How to recieve confirmation

Just wanted to confirm something. I see many people receiving emails when their petition is accepted. Is g-1145 the form to file out for this?

use that form on initial submittal,

the first notice you get will be via email, since you used that form.

The NOA-1 will show up in the mail, laterz.

I'm a tad confused by "Applicant/Petitioner". Do I include my info (as beneficiary) or my husband's (as petitioner)?

if you sign up for the txt msg as well, you will get multiple messages saying your case was received. in my case i got two emails and txt per form.

also kitty if you want to continue to get those updates you have to login and re sign up, apparently the g1145 only works to let you know that they got the package, after that it stops giving you updates. as for touches, well youd have to continue to occasionally login to see those dates changes.

you should get an email just like this one, one for each form you filed with all the MSC numbers:

Dear Applicant/Petitioner:

Your USCIS application/petition has been received and routed to the National Benefits Center for processing. Within 7-10 days by standard mail you will receive your official Receipt Notice (Form I-797) with your Receipt Number MSC***********. With the official Receipt Notice (Form I-797) you may visit www.uscis.gov where you can check the status of your application using My Case Status. We suggest you wait until you have received your Form I-797 before checking My Case Status.

This confirmation provides notification of the date USCIS received your application/petition. This notice does NOT grant any immigration status or benefit.
