Hi,

I am a 'July 2010 Filer' but no interview for me yet :(

I am getting worried now. Looks like the process was much faster in 2009....

also, it looks like Southern California is taking a longer time on average.

Took you over 2.5 months to get the interview letter. That tells me I will have to wait for another 3 weeks for the letter :(

By the way, how come you got NOA2 for I-485, 12 days after you filed the application? Also, did you get NOA2 for I-130?

Hi,

We're in Atlanta and just got our letter today... scheduled for 9 weeks after they received our app! 5 weeks sounds not so bad at this end - maybe they are slower here in ATL.

Things seem to be moving more slowly in the DC area as well. We just received the bio appointment letter yesterday after a bit over 8 weeks of waiting. Hopefully, things will start to move more quickly from now on. We really need the EAD by the end of the year when his current work visa expires.

I am the US citizen, my hubby is the applicant.

Adjusting from J1 Trainee visa with waiver of home residency requirement:

04/10/2010: Married!

08/18/2010: Sent AOS package to USCIS

08/20/2010: Package received by USCIS

08/31/2010: Received e-mails and text message confirmation of receipt

09/02/2010: Received hard copies of I-797 for I-130, I-485, I-765

10/18/2010: I-765 touched

10/28/2010: Biometrics Appointment Letter Received, Appointment for 11/16

11/16/2010: Biometrics Appointment; Email notice informing us that USCIS has ordered production of EAD card

11/17/2010: I-485 and I-765 touched

11/19/2010: Second Email notice re: production order of EAD card

11/22/2010: EAD approval email!

11/24/2010: EAD received

12/10/2010: Interview appointment letter received; interview on January 13

01/13/2011: AOS Interview complete; Verbal approval for 2-year conditional green card!

01/14/2011: Email received; Card Production Ordered! :)

01/24/2011: Green card received!

Don't worry - my bio letter was like 2 months after we applied but within a week of the bio appointment, I had my EAD card in the post! Then in a few days we got our appointment for one month away... :innocent:

Thank you! This whole process is stressful and it's great to have a resource like Visa Journey where others are going through similar steps. Hubby had his biometrics appointment yesterday and everything went smoothly. Longest part was just getting to the ASC. Once we were there, we were in and out in 20 minutes and everyone at the Alexandria office was very friendly and efficient. We received an email in the afternoon saying production has been ordered for the EAD card so we're one step closer to getting the green card!

There's another August filers thread that sees more traffic (not sure if there's a difference between the two): http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/267889-august-2010-filers/

The progress report thread you link is for people who came in with a K-1 visa. (The person who started the thread is in the wrong forum lol). EAD/AP for both procedures share timelines basically, but thereafter it is totally different. Often people who entered wit ha K-1 visa don't have an interview, for instance. Interviews are required for concurrent filers.

AOS for my husband

Ah. Well, all of my updates are there, but we're not k1.

It's hard to tell where the stuff actually lives, especially when I use the "new content" button to check the site (not digging through individual fora).

(I know now that I can look at the "breadcrumb" on the top of the page, but even that seems hard to find if you don't know where to look)

Yeah, I know the forums are confusing. No one pays attention to the "from family based visas" part, they just see the "family-based" and want to post! I think it has been suggested many times that the names of forums are really confusing, and I agree.

Congrats! Pretty impressive how quickly your interview went!

We're still waiting on the interview letter and hope to see it in the mail soon. No touches on our case since the EAD was approved.

Same here, and we're at Fairfax, but still Washington, D.C.

We're actually a week ahead of you most of the timeline, so I hope that it means we'll hear before you! (no offense!)
