Pay Stubs - Originals or Copies

I wish to send my Pay Stubs in with my 864 package.

My question is should I send in my original Pay Stubs - or would it be fine for me to just send photocopies?

Since you can send copies of your tax returns, W2s, bank statements, etc I am assuming there is no REQUIREMENT to send in original pay stubs, correct?

My desire is to retain the original pay stubs and carry those with me to the interview instead.

We only sent in tax transcripts with our I-864 but brought copies of pay stubs to the interview. My husband's workplace does not issue paper copies anymore, everything is online so that is where we printed them from. Since our financial evidence was sufficient for the initial submission of our I-864 we saved the updated confirmation of his salary for the interview. Good luck!

I just returned from my K1 interview in Frankfurt, Germany, and they did not require the original paystubs. I had them with me just in case, but they said copies were fine. They didn't even want to see them.

But maybe someone with CR-1 experience can help out.

Further to my earlier post....while we did take the pay stubs to our interview they did not ask to see them.

You don't have to mail or show paystab. Just your IRS transcripts are sufficient as the I864 instruction says.

Dear friends, The pay stubs in the current year are necessary to review by NVC. I have completed my NVC process in 2008 and based on experience I am telling this. Tax transcripts give the idea about your past only. NVC wants to verify you are still making money above the poverty line. So, send them as well. Photocopies may be sufficient.

It is always better to carry the entire documents of the petitioner (other than original passport of the petitioner) and the beneficiary. You never know what the officer asks. Based on some people's post, don't trust on this. For them, some document may not have asked. That doesn't mean it is the case for all.

How can you say me I am trolling you? And why should I hate you? You are just like all others to me, the chump and thin skin guy!

My point is never confuse people NOT to take their current paystubs in the process as part of their interview or NVC review. They are needed to evaluate one's current earning potential above the poverty line. Do you understand my point, Bengladesi?

Do my employer have to write on a company letter head or do the N Visa C or any one else provide a form which my employer has to fill?

When you say that you have to show your pay stub/income tax certificates, do the petitioner show/send it to some place in USA or do the petitioner send it to the benficiary in the foreign country and the benficiary have to show it during his/her interview?

Please inform.

When you send DS-230 packet to NVC, you can include all of them. This will be forwarded to the Consulate and can be collected back by the beneficiary after the interview.

The AOS (864) package instructions do not explicitly state that they want you to send pay stubs or an employer letter. However, since the 864 package is designed to validate or prove the sponsor's income you want to try and build as strong of a case as possible so they have no reason to doubt your ability to cover your wife's expenses.

So because of that the VJ wiki regarding the AOS or 864 supporting documents mentions a bunch of things to send along with the 864 package. You can read that here: http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/James%27s_Shortcuts

So basically to answer your question you should get the employment letter, pay stubs and tax returns now as soon as you are in a position to mail the 864 package to them.

I know we are expected to bring all this stuff and of course I'm bringing everything. But more and mre people are writing back after their interview that MTL really didn't ask for much at all and practically nothing in the way of the bonafides. But you know Murphy and his law....always best to have more than enough and bring everything and then some, because the day you don't is when you get asked. Too bad as we could be traveling much lighter....same holds true with bringing that huge brown envelope with your Xrays on it. they never ask for it, at least that's what being posted but best to bring it.

I'm bringing original paystubs plus copies of them. Overkill likely....can always shred later.
