Good day,

I was wondering if there is any way to monitor the progress of the CR-1 visa at the NVC. Does the NVC update their progress on a CR-1 visa? Is it best to check by phone or online? The immigration office had sent everything last Tuesday, July 14th and I have called the NVC IVR but no update yet. I thought maybe I could check something to see if they have received the packet of information, other than calling them obviously (I'm not up for waiting 45 minutes on hold). Please let me know what your experience has been when trying to get an update. I realize they will more than likely approve it in less than two months but I'm sure everyone gets just as impatient as I do about wanting to know the current status!

Also, has anyone had much luck with requesting that the embassy send the packet 4 list by e-mail instead of by regular mail? I would much rather prefer that the embassy e-mails the packet 4 list to my spouse and I than mailing it because I have read several reviews about the San Salvador Embassy really messing that part up when they send the packet 4 by regular mail. How soon can I request that the embassy e-mails the list to my spouse and I? Will it be an issue if I have a BIA attorney assisting with my case when requesting that it be e-mailed instead of mailed? Please let me know, thank you! :)

I got stumped by this - The immigration office had sent everything last Tuesday, July 14th

What does that mean, exactly ?

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

The CR-1 documents required by NVC. I believe it is referred to as Packet 3 or I-864 Package, something along those lines. I have an immigration office helping me for free since I used to volunteer for them and they had just sent the documents, as shown in the NVC timeline. I am just wanting to know how I can receive updates on the progress at NVC.

Were you using the online payment portal ? If so, when you cannot log in anymore, a 'sign-in-fail' - is good indication that NVC has flagged the casefile as 'documents complete' .

Then there's some 'final review' prior to bundling up to send to US Embassy.

Otherwise? For Status? You need to call in to NVC, get a Human, and inquire for casefile status.
