So I got my biometrics done today and the guy put down Canada as CD on everything. I thought it was CA.

anyone know if USCIS is on their own level like everything else they do.

CA is for California... I am sure CD is for Canada! Simple logic would be when I go to a back and try to get my Canadian money transferred to US, they put it down as CDN dollars... (.ca is used as a domain name for Canada, you are right there)

Sounds about right. Canada in Canada will use CA, but in the US as mentioned, California takes the ownership of CA, so Canada as a country would have to change to CD or something like that so as not to confuse the two...

Sep - Recieved Advanced Parole

Jan - Interview, accepted for Green Card

Feb - Green Card Arrived in mail

2005

Oct - I-751 sent off

2006

Jan - 10 year Green Card accepted

Mar - 10 year Green Card arrived

Oct - Filed N-400 for Naturalization

Nov - Biometrics done

Nov - Just recieved Naturalization Interview date for Jan.

2007

Jan - Naturalization Interview Completed

Feb - Oath Letter recieved

Feb - Oath Ceremony

Feb 21 - Finally a US CITIZEN (yay)

I always thought it was CDN, like the abbreviation for currency.

07/17/2014 check cashed by USCIS

10/01/2014 found out we are expecting baby #2 June 2015!

12/15/2014 NOA2

12/30/2014 Case received by NVC

03/23/2015 Received Case and Inv # from NVC after many calls and bogus excuses.

03/24/2015 AOS payment accepted by NVC

04/09/2015 IV payment finally accepted by NVC after the set the wrong fee and took weeks to correct it.

*many more delays thanks to the agency processing my fingers prints to the RCMP and the post office losing our mail*

05/20/2015 Packet sent to NVC via UPS, eta May 28.

06/16/2015 Baby #2 due - homebirth in Scottsdale, AZ

Actually, the international standard (ISO 4217) symbol for Canadian Dollars is CAD. :thumbs:

I was just googling country codes and it list Canada as CA, CONGO (DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC) is actually CD. So it doesn't make sence to me either. I was always taught it was CA too. Three letters if used is CAN but it all depends I guess.

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied,that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

This thread reminded me of the first time my now husband was coming to meet me in Toronto, ON. He reserved his tickets and was reading them off to me on the phone...Ontario, CA. I said "what city dear....Ontario is a big place.." He was confused for a few and finally called the airline. Yup...he had booked his tickets to Ontario, California. :bonk: Luckily we caught the error because I was already pretty nervous about meeting someone I met online and he may not have gotten a second chance if he was a no show. :P
