Leave it to the people at the 1-800 number to ask for something idiotic like proof of you being a female. Wasn´t there enough proof submitted with all of the rest of the immigration hassle? I think all of the things you are submitting should be sufficient especially the expired green card copy showing your picture and their obvious error on the new green card. I sure hope it doesn´t take that long for your card to arrive. It is a good idea to get the stamp in your passport in case you need to travel while you are waiting for the new card to arrive. My husband´s name was mispelled on his DL (the name was joined together instead of leaving a space as his last name consists of 2 words), and they told us the computer would not allow them to fix it even though the ID card they had issued to him had it correct. An in-person visit with my insisting that the computer would allow them to fix it if they would just make an effort took care of that problem. Sometimes I wonder where they find the people they put on the 1-800 helplines for these government agencies. Good luck to you!

2. My Birth certificate is in Spanish (Somebody knows where to bring it to be traslate to the English Language?...They want an Official traslation)...

I used USCTS.com to get my certified translations.

I found that they were reliable, convenient, and reasonably priced too. $ 55 I think is what I paid (excluding shipping)

Hi everybody!!!!

I just received in the mail my 10 years Green card....thats the good news!!! The bad news is that the card put my sex as M (male) and I am F (female). I just called the 800 number......customer service and they said I had to fill out an I90 form and prove my sex. I asked what i shpuld use to prove my gender and they did not give me a concrete example. The person that i spoke to also told me that i need to prove that the error was an administartive error....because if I am responsible for the error i have to pay $370.00. My expired green card definately says i am a F (female). I am sure I filled out the form correctly. The person that i spoke to also told me that the process could take as long as 6 months.!!!!!!!!! can you belive that?????????????...i am so sad!!!!!!!!!!!......Does anyone have ideas that could help my situation...ie what documents to use to prove my gender? A way that wont take 6 months? Similar situations? Thanks for your help!.

Cashel :crying:

I am very sorry for the problem. My wife and I had problems with her 10 year card too. The problem was due to a mis-spelling in her name. We got our NOA on March 10'th and just today saw the case status change to card production ordered. We were not required to pay anything. Our attorney sent copies of our original paperwork as well as our NOA's showing the mistake was on their side. I'd do the same in your situation.

Stay calm, take your time. I know it is very stressful after going through all of this, but you know for a fact that you are approved for your 10 year card. Gather your documentation and submit a well thought out package.

All the best!
