I just drank a cream soda on the 4th out of one of those beer looking bottles. I felt weird, because I AM weird. You know, the company that makes the root beer and cream soda in those?

A&W?

I love their vanilla cream soda ..yum!

i'd like nothing better than to have yuppies stop learning about indian food from other yuppies.

if the old cooks of vedic india knew westerners would stuff tofu into samosas, they'd have committed mass suicide.

LOL

It's fun being condescending about people's lack of knowledge of Indian food/tea.

Well I guess without meeting my husband, I would have been lost too...

Beautiful...I love all my Hindu friends....I also work in IT so most of my cohorts are also Hindu :blush:

Where in India were you guys?

A "suburb" area outside of Mumbai called Kharghar. When I met my husband, he lived in New Delhi so I went there in 2003 before we got married. I have been to the Mumbai area twice now. But I never was there for very long. Last trip was the longest, in India about 2 and a half weeks.

My 2nd favorite is "what does curry taste like?".

And what do you say? Do you nicely try to explain it? LOL

If I am completely honest, I have a hard time with being in India for certain reasons. The last two trips were visits to family, not touristy, and sitting in a flat all day can get very trapped feeling! And I feel like I lose a lot of my personal freedom because no one wants me to go walking outside alone, and I would feel weird to anyway. I do love the food, the textiles, music, seeing really different, ancient architecture. The social part is what can be hard for me, in a mixed marriage, being white, standing out, etc. hehe.

Zap Branigan is a weird character. He makes Quagmire look normal.

Does one need to meet certain criteria to post? While I understand people wanting a place to talk to their usual buddies, I don't understand thinking that a thread in off topic has to stay how someone wants it to. It's a miracle it went on as far as it did, IMO. I am sure the people will move on eventually that weren't "welcomed". I just find this all strange.

QFT.

I never posted in the C4C threads, but I did read it the past two days. It's absurd for anyone to think they should have the right to control conversation.
