Seriously, do we really need such melodrama? It's a message board people, that's it!

I keep holding out hope that the milk of human kindness runs in your veins, that you might realize that maybe there are real people with real issues who post here, that these aren't just words. I guess that I was wrong. Thanks for confirming my worst fears.

Excuse me? Where does that come from?

I thought this was supposed to be the "no drama" thread where people were able to chat in a civil manner. I've respected that and I think that's been proven by the fact that this thread has remained civil despite the best efforts of yourself and a couple of others to derail it with snide comments about "invaders" trangressing on your territory.

The irony here is that all of the drama in this thread, every bit, has come from you, Nagi and Natty. If you want to talk about the milk of human kindness I'd start closer to home.

Seriously - that's a thoroughly outrageous comment!!!

Celador was Who Wants To Be A Millionaire wasn't it?

I couldn't work there - I'd not be able to resist punching Chris Tarrant.

Yeah, they did WWTBAM. We had Anthony Worrall-Thompson, who really was that goblinesque in person. The two nicest people in our stable were Handy Andy and Claudia Winkleman, who was just a lovely person. Fern Britton and Carol Smillie: not nice at all.

The biggest jerk though was someone who wasn't even on that side of the camera. One of the runners, the lowest rung on the ladder, was Jools Norton, who later married Jamie Oliver and became famous by extension. This was just around the time The Naked Chef was about to launch, and she knew that Jamie was about to become famous. She put on some serious airs and would flat out not do her job. I was one of her many bosses and more times than I care to admit I ended up doing things SHE was supposed to be doing, like placing orders for sandwiches from Pret a Manger, or photocopying, or, or... And she kept her job because everyone knew Jamie was about to be famous and having her on staff would be a feather in our cap.

I must respecfully disagree with the idea that this is only a chit-chat thread. There are many other threads that specialize in idle chit-chat, I am not going to go into detail but as I was just told people are free to come and go as they please. Fair enough. Keep in mind that such an attitude will necessarily proscribe any discussion of personal affairs. This is a support group, first and a place to exchange bland pleasantries, second.

no it isn't.

it's just another thread in off topic. if you want a forum that is more private with membership more restricted, you're better off starting a private blog or opening a yahoo group.

understand that I have no problem with you wanting or seeking such a sanctuary. what I'm saying is it won't work on OT.

It is. This thread isn't a private club. No thread is.

Stupid cats. After making them stop playing in the bathtub 5 times (yes, obviously I am not an authority figure to them), I finally filled it with water. They both sat on the edge of the tub and watched it, fascinated, and played with the water.

Not as bad as when they were roughhousing yesterday and accidentally turned on the vacuum, though. I haven't seen cats disappear so fast ever in my life. rofl.gif

Yes, I am bored. And I have a headache. I wish I could work.

####### IS HAPPENING HERE? I thought you guys were all nice and accepting of people. I thought that was the thing about C4C. You people are always depressing! Always talking about how horrible life is! Yes, it's a great place for support, but it's also nice to have people here adding some chit chat.

Nagi - I'm sorry you don't feel well today, but you're not being very nice to people who are just adding cheer and normal conversation to the thread!

In other news, I'm sad to report that I think one of my aunts looks like Kerry Katona.

Life is a ticket to the greatest show on earth.

I am extremely welcoming to new people in this thread always. I love seeing new faces and hearing new people's stories. However, do you know what I don't understand?

If it's just a message board and there's so much melodrama, why aid in creating it? Why do things on purpose to make other people upset? I just don't get it. It's childish. Aren't we all grown-ups here?

I'm sorry, but on this board I've met people that I want to keep in contact with and I have a great time in C4C. These people were here when I was going through the immigration drama, the pregnancy, the bedrest, the birth of my baby. I was there for them during the loss of loved ones, sickness, relationship problems, immigration stress... good and bad times and so much more.

I just don't understand what would make someone intentionally want to mess that up - for me or anyone else.

And the only criteria there is (in my opinion) to post in this thread is to be nice and have genuinely good intentions. Thassit!

 Wow. You were there when things were taking off!

It was an incredible time in general to be in London. Everyone still had the warm fuzzies about Blair, it was all Cool Britannia, and there was a lot of champagne. My husband at the time had some family money we were blowing through like it was going out of style and it was pretty fantastic all round. I cultivated my love of fine red wines around this time.blush.gif

Tell me about it. George won't leave me alone this morning, he's sharpening his claws on my desk chair like he's possessed and he keeps asking me to make photocopies since he is obsessed with the printer.wacko.gif

Yes, I am bored. And I have a headache. I wish I could work.

My cat (almost) managed to lock the entire family out of the house yesterday  We just adopted our kitten about 2 months ago and she is still an inside cat...daughter doesn't want to let her out yet, without supervision. But, everytime that we let her out...she'll eventually try to go under the deck and we'll have to coax her out :help::star::lol:

So, last night she did it again, went under the deck. So we coaxed her out and then put her inside and kept sitting outside on the deck, with our beloved kitten staring out at us from the other side of the glass sliding door. Then, suddenly, she jumped up with all her strength and agility and LOCKED THE DOOR! I think it was done purposefully, as she then gleamed at us through her mocking eyes

One other door was open though so we were able to get back into the house...but the kitten won the battle.

I hope your headache ends!

Blessings!
