OK, I am missing something here. This thread IS mostly chit-chat, and support of each other when needed. Exactly when did we limit membership? I missed that meeting. Maybe you need to revoke mine. Maybe they came in here to annoy us, but maybe, just maybe, we should welcome them. I have found both Madhouse and Maven to be intelligent, hilarious people. I may not always agree with their politics, but they have NOT brought politics into here.

I'm glad someone is bringing the issue out into the open.

Noone here (except for Natty) violated the TOS in this thread, yet all manner of negative and veiled derogatory comments (most recently references to Romans and invaders) have been posted in the general direction of myself and others whose only apparent "crime" is posting in this thread.

Given that VJ is a public board, surely it isn't right for there to be a insular clique of posters who actively try to disparage and eject people who don't fit their groups internal parameters. So long as the thread remains within the bounds of the TOS, noone has any right (more importantly, noone has any power) to tell anyone else where they can or cannot post.

Morning! Ugh. This is my second attempt at consciousness after the cat woke me up at 4am. I then spent the next hour on VJ... sad story, but true. Overcast and 60 right now here, but it will be sunny and in the high 70s here later and dry as a bone. Some small mercies here in SoCal.

Mags -- that 2004 summer? Man. I remember sitting in a pub in Greenwich Market trying to stay cool but every blasted pub around had lost their electric and there was NO COLD BEER. The pub I ended up at had barrels of ice that they stuck bottles of beer into, which wasn't cool enough. That was the day it finally topped 100F for the first time in ages -- it was a weekend, I remember. Whenever I start thinking about moving back, I think: no AC.

If it involved the Northern Line, I don't blame you! I lived up in Kentish Town for a while, and my last place in London was near Archway, so I've spent my fair share of time in Camden. Where were you yesterday that a trip to North London was impossible?
