You seem to miss the point completely. It is blatantly arrogant to take the name of a sport that is already popular and in existence and apply it to your own sport.

If you read on the beginnings of football, the forward pass was not made legal until 1906. Therefore the gameplay was very similar to rugby.

This changes nothing. We used Rugby Football as our model. We added a scrimage line but keep in mind we named it Football before the forward pass, regardless it was still in the hands a good part of the time. So like I said before if you want to hate,hate on your peeps in the UK. All we did was use rugby footballas our model. So your arrogance and being offended argument only illustrates your misunderstanding of how things went down.

No its a PC Nutjob idea because after all these years of calling it football you suggest the name should be changed so that we dont offend a certain group of people. If your not suggesting we change it then why are making a issue of it? Like I said this all started with rugby football,there was no intention to offend anyone by the Americans.
