Honestly, I don't think anyone is listening. You are all shouting aloud in front of a mirror.

Meanwhile.... More and more American companies are being bought by foreigners. European and Asian companies "pour investments" into the US economy. The trade deficits we keep racking up leave them with dollars that, sooner or later, must be spent. Some of these dollars are used to purchase US debt. But since the trade deficits exceed the budget deficits by a couple of hundred billion dollars, the rest of that money can only be used to buy up US assets.

Sometimes I think I know everything, and I regain consciousness. Seen it all, done it all, forgot most of it....

April 12/11 - biometrics done - I start studying

May - get the letter

June 27 - Interview and oath ceremony - same day

Lifting Conditions

Feb 5/08 - Sent paperwork by USPS - priority

Feb 14/08 - NOA issued

Feb 28/08 - Biometrics letter received for The Bronx Office - have to reschedule

Mar 22/08 - Biometrics rescheduled - LOVE the Saturday appointment!

Feb ?/09 - done!

You really willing to put off the EU for another half a millenium or more?

You really think the EU is going to come to a halt because of some 26,000 people on some island being addicted to snus?

They can do Finland a favor and keep Finland out of it.

Not sure how much of a favor that would be. Russia grabbed Finland once before... :whistle:

:angry:Finland has also been a part of Sweden before it became a part of Russia. So what? Finns (including my grandpa) fought like hell to get and maintain their indepence. The relationship between the Åland islands and mainland Finland has always been somewhat "special" and if it had been up to the Åland islanders themselves they would much rather have become a part of Sweden. I've been to the islands many times and it's very beautiful there but in many ways it doesn't feel like you are in Finland anymore. It'll be interesting to see if their efforts and determination pays off. To be honest I have a hard time believing the EU even cares...

As for "snus"...nothing but highly addictive nasty #######.

And they better don't come to the mainland crying.

They are probably too proud for that anyways...

December 13, 2007 - I-751 submitted to NSC (removing of conditions fun begins...)

December 22 - Received a rejection notice because the form was not "properly signed". Package itself was not returned.

January 1, 2008 - Received packet back from CSC. They are requesting we resubmit the packet (which is already organized by CSC) with a properly signed form.

January 2 - Packet resubmitted to California.

January 12 - NOA1 received (dated 01/07/2008)

January 19 - Biometrics appointment notice received (dated 01/15/2008)

February 1 - Biometrics

March 11 - Approved! Card production ordered (notified via e-mail).

March 20, 2008 - New card arrived in the mail :)

Done until 2018 :)

If they want to be autonomous, why not just completely declare independance, stick up a finger to the EU, and fish their own waterways with whatever nets they want while chewing whatever they want and shooting as many ducks as they want.

I'm sure that in exchange for a 26 man deployment to Baghdad, the US would gladly support their independance.
