I have been given my interview date for my interview in London for my K1 (July 27) and I'm so excited - this has happened for us much quicker than we expected, I129F only sent off to CA centre at the beginning of March!

I'm trying to find out how soon after the interview I'll actually receive the visa. I know it used to be same day, but now they courier your passport with the visa to your home, but I'm struggling to find any details of how long I'll have to wait.

I'm desperate to be able to book a flight and get over there to be with my fiancee and to get married, so any information will be very gratefully received.

What country are you from? In Canada it can take up to 2 weeks

Also, don't book a flight until the visa is in your hand. Too many people on here have been anxious to book a flight and then they end up paying huge fees to change it because something doesn't go their way

Good luck.

I was also eager to get the passport for my Fiancee but it was delayed at the Embassy in Colombia. We were told it would take a maximum of 8 business days but it took 12 in total because the printing of the visa was delayed at the Embassy. It only took the courier 2 business days to delivery it once thy got it in hand.

I booked her flight based on the 8 day estimate and had to pay $300 in fees to change the flights. If I could do it again I would have waited until she got the visa in hand because there were a variety of flights to book for the next day and the prices were almost the same as booking them 1 to 2 weeks in advance.

I hope this helps.

my fiance had his interview last thursday....and he's still waiting for the visa to arrive....they told him 3-10 days.

we risked the fee to change the flight....simply because the flights to US were nearly $2500 at the end of July..and he bought one early for 500 euros.

hope yours comes soon :)

Hmmm, as I thought - not quite as quick as we had hoped! I was also thinking of making sure I booked flexible tickets, really don't want to be caught out with ticket I can't use. Thanks.
