because scanner wasn't working properly and everything is 'unreadable'...gggrrr.
AOS was denied because my husband did not have a US (state)police background check done between the time of his entry to the US and our interview date. We never even thought he would need this because of his police checks already done in France.
Green card finally arrived....is valid for only 2 yrs. Agent said he was approving it for only 2 yrs because I had been married twice and both ended in divorce...even though we paid the same price for a 10yr green card!

Comments : we did not stress out over this application. we submitted a few pieces of required evidence, like joint utility bills etc, but we only had 1 person write a letter of recommendation. we figured if they (immigration) had a problem, the burden of proof was on them. no problems or questions.

Consulate Review: France
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : June 24, 2010
Embassy Review : This is second hand information. My fiance arrived at the Paris Embassy at 1pm. He waited maybe 20 minutes before being called to a window. He said it was very stressful because there are 20 windows in the room and various numbers are being called all the time by an electronic board. He said it went very quickly...no time to read a book or anything. He was called to a window and he gave all the financial documents. No one requested any proof or evidence of the relationship.
When he was called for the interview, he talked to a very stern and serious older lady - he described her as 'judge-like'. No real questions about our lives except 'how did you meet?'...'how much quality time have you spent with her kids?'.
Then she interrogated him pretty intensely about my two previous divorces and 2 children. She made it very clear to him this is a serious matter in a new married life and that our lives will not be easy at all. He said she was very authoritative in her discussions with him....she had the best interests of the children first in her mind... YAY old lady!
He gave her the chronopost....which was too small. She said he was approved pending a new envelope.
He ran to the nearest post office and returned to the embassy with the correct size (he said the smaller one was the only one available at the time, when he bought it).
They told him he will receive it in 3-10 days. WOOHOO!
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
