Is there food available at the park, or should we make some arrangements to bring something? Yvonne will need there to be a vegetarian option of some kind either way.

I can bring drinks (juice/water/iced tea). As far as food goes I'm not sure about bringing fruit or any meat across the border. Anyone have any info on the rules?

Forecast on Accuweather .com predicts 81 and sunny but do we have a plan in case it rains?

As far as I know, both are no-nos.

Hah, rain plans = we all go to the casino! :P (nah, not really)

I'd join you but I'm not planning on heading up that way until the day after you meet. :)

There's another link on the APHIS page about allowable products for personal consumption but I've misplaced it..... but I'm sure you can find it if you really need to. lol

I bring meat and fruit across the border in both directions and have never had a problem. Types of meats I have brought to the US include bacon, pepperettes, tinned corned beef, etc. I do not bring fruits from Canada to the US..... although I have forgotten about the bananas/oranges/apples/whatever that I had packed as a snack and had not gotten around to eating before I crossed but I wouldn't, on purpose, bring fruit or veg to the US because CBP is pretty picky about that. Canada is a different story. They're used to Canadian border residents grocery shopping in the US and have never stopped me from bringing over anything I've purchased..... and I tell them every time. There's a link to cross border grocery items somewhere online but I don't have the time to search for it. Perhaps someone else has it handy.

We will pass in opposite directions then...I'm heading back the next day!

I think I'll stick with the drinks. :)

I think I've got a lot to catch up on. I had to check to make sure you lived in the US! LOL

 That's okay...most days I'm not sure where I live. After a year in NJ I still feel as though I have a foot in both places.

Hi Everyone,

Sorry for the late reply, I’ve been having problems with my internet service again…Grr…

What a great response from all of you so far! Thanks to you all for RSVPing too...Looks like we can expect 8 people or so?

Anyways, I'm looking forward to meeting all of you tomorrow at 2pm at Niagara Falls State Park (at the Visitor’s Centre).....It's going to be a great meetup! :)

As for food and drinks and stuff....

And yes, they do allow food inside of the park, so no problems there.

Also, from what I know of the area, there is a supermarket not too far from there, and there is also a restaurant/food stand at the park too. So I’m sure food-wise we’ll be ok there too…

Thanks OBX for offering to bring the drinks…What a great way cool down on a hot summer day!

Likewise, I’ll be brining some small treats/food for us all to share too…

By the way, does anyone have any food allergies/food intolerances, and stuff like that too?

Feel free to bring whatever you want to share as well…

As for rain….Well, there was a big thunderstorm yesterday…

And from the looks of things, according to the weather, it probably won’t rain for tomorrow….

But just in case of bad weather, we can meet at the visitor’s center anyways, and determine what we want to do from there…

(lol..though I’m going to have to skip about the casino…babies and casinos don’t mix)

Anyways, hope to see you all tomorrow…Looking forward to the meeting!

P.S. As for photos and stuff...

Don't forget your camera! The view of the falls is amazing!

And yes, we can post those views here on VJ too...I'm sure we'd all like to see those...

However...I do ask of one thing:

Please don't post photos of us (Ant, D, Baby A) on VJ and/or on the internet on a public forum for public viewing (though private e-mail and/or private albums, and only shared amongst those that attended the event are ok...)...Thanks..

This is more of a privacy/security/safety issue thing, especially for the sake of my young son...Hope you understand.

Nevertheless, hope to see you all there tomorrow! Oh how exciting this meetup will be!
