Hi everyone,

I just checked my case status online and it says "On June 17, 2010 we mailed the document to the address we have on file. You should receive the new document within 30 days." So fast!! I only sent our package in on May 28th!

Anyways, when we get my husband's EAD card, what do we need to do for him to be able to work? Do we need to go to the social security office first? When can he start working? As soon as he has it?

Thanks!

He needs to fill out the above form and take it to your local Social Security office with the information they ask for in the instructions. Most employers will not employ someone without a SSN.

Congrats! :)

he has to apply for a SSN and when he does ask for the receipt or if they can give his an statement that he applied this way he can start working right away most employers will accept that statement until the SS card arrives on the mail some states you can do that for drivers license too
