I just got my approval from USCIS yesterday. What is next can anyone tell me what is in packet 3? Also any advice from this point forward? How will we get packet 3? will they email it to us? Thanks in advance for all your help

Congratulations on your approval!

You might get more K1 specific answers by posting in the K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures forum.

The short cut is for the wrong visa type. You petition will head to NVC where you will get a Nigerian case number. It can be pretty quick but sometimes CSC is slow at getting the petition out. Once it has the case number assigned it goes to Lagos. Once there you can start asking for an interview date. The package is posted on the embassy site. Download it and you have everything. Immigrant visa forms Lagos

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

Thanks for all the advice I will spend my weekend looking over all these things with the hopes that my baby will be here soon!!!!!! although I know nothing in Lagos moves fast except the bike men....lol

No Problem Antoneya I posted here because I wanted more specfic information geared towards the Embassy in Nigeria. Most embassies differ and the Nigerian one is a tough one so I wanted to make sure that the information that was given to me is from past individuals that have dealings with the embassy in Nigeria...I have filed for K-1 fiance visa...Thanks for all you help thus far!!!!!!! :)

The first response about the short cut sent you to data about a different visa type I gave you a link to the files for a K1 I assume your fiance has his passport and birth certificate in hand. You could start the medical and police report now but you may want to wait until you know an interview date because both of those expire. Have you started on the stuff you need for the I 134 ?

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

I have everything I need for the I-134...The only question I have about that is do you know where I can go to find the income guidelines? I am sure I make more than enough money but I am just curious as to what they are? (that is me being curious all the time) Also how long is the medical and police report valid do you know since you said they expire. Hi there ! Congrats on your approval ! I guess every embassy has a different treatment. I applied through US Embassy in Armenia. I received a call from the embassy with a checklist of documents and forms that I need to fill out and bring to interview with me. The checklist included all the necessary forms for Packet 3. I also had to pass medical checkup at one of the centers attached to the US embassy and pay K 1application fees. I had to feel out 3 forms which you can find online: DS 230, DS_156K and DS156. The later needs to be filed online. I also received aff. of support form and supporting documents from my fiance which si also required to present to the Embassy.

The poverty guidelines can be found on the I-864P form at http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-864p.pdf. I'm not sure if the numbers truly change every year but this should be a good guide of it.
