Hi PD, have done doing my medical this afternoon and still no packet inhands, when the SLEC staff about to gave me back the xray film and vaccine report , she was asking my appointment letter? told her one of their staff promised i cud pick it up today but didnt do do, so i need to go back again in SLEC just to pick up my packet, bcos they need the copy of appointment letter that will be included in medical results to be pass to embassy.

If ur fiancee got her packet, then i might be having my packet within this week also its been 27th day since embassy mailed out my packet

In your last response to my question about immunizatios you said:

"anyhow after i got the MMR i got a piece of paper listing what other shots i need to get later, and MMR2 was crossed out so i guess that meant i didnt need it."

I am curious about the "other shots" that are needed? I was hoping St Lukes would send 'us' out with all the shots needed. But it really seems like they are just doing some basic minimum and really that means we will end up paying alot of money in US for the 'other' needed shots.

I did read that they will accept this medical for your Adjustment of Status Package. But you would have to get shot record certified by a Civil Surgeon.

After medical results out, only xray film and vaccines records will be given to u. for adults there are certain vaccines not anymore to give bcos of age, they will give u what vaccine u just need, u will be given the vaccines lists and being thicked what you should be taken or not, and there a note on below and being thicked that u need to take when u enter US.

As for me only MMR been given, and they noted at the bottom that i need to have tetanus and diptheria shots in US since its not available in philippines. As for kids should e taken here since its available, exensive to take it in US.

Do you really even need the packet? I have all the forms downloaded and filed on my computer already. If you have your case number isn’t that good enough? I ask cuz I have tried and tried to call the embassy, 0116325286300 extensions 5184 and 5185, and have not been able to get anyone. I call at 8:00a Manila time with no luck and kept trying for an hour. My fiancée also tried with no luck. So is the packet something you really need?

:help:

Thanks.

The thing you really need from the packet is the appointment letter. They took mine and put a stamp on it when i had my medical. And your fiancee will need it to show the Embassy guards at the gate during the interview date. Worst case, if you dont get the packet, download the PDF schedule with your case # found at the Embassy web page.

St. Luke's does try send us out with all the shots needed.

Unless the lady is pregnant, or has a probability of being pregnant during the time of the medical exam or expresses the desire of trying to concieve....In which case, she will be given a waiver to have to shots in the US at a later date.

Regarding other shots, They have most of the vaccines on the list. However, for reasons unknown to me too, they do not have the Td vaccine. There is a Note at the bottom of the Immunization report. It says:

"Note: The following vaccine/s is are not currently available in the Philippines: Td (Tetanus-Diphtheria) Applicant advised to have the above vaccination/s upon arrival in the USA."

hey purpledonkey,

I got my medical done last Friday and re: the pelvic exam...you could tell your woman that in my case, there was nothing uncomfortable or embarassing about it. Actually, the nice lady doctor did not really do more than just give it a cursory glance and I was done. I know there are a lot of horror stories circulating about that "dreaded" medical but i think the doctors at St.Luke's are quite professional...the one's i've encountered anyways. Hope this helps minimize some of her apprehensions. :)

rebelheart, did you pay for your medical right there and then? thanks!

hey poipoi,

when u entered the premises of SLEC, u shud show the copy of appointment letter and u wer given a number, or if u picking up packet u proceed window F & have it copied outside, then gueard will give u the PDS form to filled up, after dat u need to submit it on the first counter right infront when u enter the premises to have ur digital picture taken and encoding of bio's, then u will asked to go cashier and pay it.

The exchange rate they have last monday is P52 = 1$, so i paid P4,840 after then u go proceed vital signs, eye check up and vaccine interview or let u proceed to pregnancy test, blood test and xray. then will asked u to come back next day for vaccine interview again inside vaccion room and get the shot after given instruction.

Note: Tomorrow is my 3rd day to visit St Lukes, ONLY to pick up my packet, they need a copy of appointment letter and stamp on that i guess, for a proof uve undergo medical and accomplished everything.

heya purpledonkey,

when i read alot of medical exams issues for many sites, was get scared thats normal... but actually its just a swift physical exams interview most often first. so be sure u tell all the truth since its ur body, Doctors in SLEC sometimes are just throwing questions at u, but in their corner eye after saying question they looking at to you straight. Most of them are OB-gyne that u cant tell lies, then after interview, they will asked u to get naked and wear hospital gown and let u lie down and check up to ur heart, breathing, tummy or belly, they will pinch it couple of times. pelvic is just a look from behind and finished. it will only take 3-5 mins.... it gets long only to me, bcos i have with my son on PE and he was asked to get naked too and pinch here and there too. :D and assesment to my kiddo is obessed  @ the age of 4 he was 22.6 kg already that shud be for a 9 yrs old kid.

Hi andrewkonen

As my fiance always told me, its not the embassy will reach us, but we are ... so he told me to try harder, so even i was pissed off everyday regarding calling embassy only for the copy of packet.

My experienced is dat, 1st time i ring call center, bcos they are the one u cud rign easy, but my 1st request was sucked. I request it feb 13 and even asked me when i want to take medical so i said feb 20. I gave him 7 days only to furnished my request but on my shocked feb 20, i never got packet but i did proceed with medical having my NVC letter with case no. and downloaded interview date of our case # in embassy website. so when im in SLEC i request to pull out my packet to embassy, they even logged my name on pullout. But when i come back on 2nd day, they said no packet still bcos embassy holiday, so meaning the SLEC staff is not aware of holiday. and was asked again to come back yesterday but i didnt go........

instead... i col embassy directline at 730AM (5286300 ext 5184, 5185) but soemtimes they will tell u did col our call center no.???? tell them yes u did alot of times... bcos they will ignore u when their busy. Just keep bugging the direct line and asked to pull out ur packet to st. lukes..

im goign back tomorrow @ st lukes, told embassy im done with my medical without the packet, so they do so now and awhiel ago when i col them... its already there but i never picked it up insteas tmrow, after my son school.

I was so demanding to pull it out to St. lukes , bcos they have messenger rather than, waiting for courier that is late also, i never trust my neighborhood when it comes to courier mail ro packages. and by the time of our interview on march .... my fiance will be asking embassy if they could mail my passport in his hotel and to addressed to his name instead, bcos he is coming with me onmy interview

this is my diary about packet pick up issues... hehehehhe got a terrible experienced
