good news, finally: I just got an email + text notification from USCIS announcing my new case status: "Card/Document Production" :D

"
Application Type: CRI89 , PETITION TO REMOVE CONDITIONS OF PERMANENT RESIDENT STATUS RECEIVED

Your Case Status: Card/ Document Production

On October 31, 2011, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you. If you move before you receive the card, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283
."

so I guess I am getting my card in the email soon, and most importantly: without an additional annoying interview!

...I was telling someone yesterday how hurtful it would be to have to remember my ex while preparing for / during the interview.

I foresaw this was going to happen this week, by analyzing other's timelines... I guessed that after I sent my missing divorce papers, it would take them 6 months to analyze my case. ditto - exactly 6 months and I got an update today. of course the end of my semi-tragic journey had to be on Haloween day :S

yay!!! guess I am done with USCIS until I can ask for citizenship... phew!!! it's been a long (and hurtful) journey for me, and I am glad to get passed this important step.

thanks to all of you who post here and give us a better idea of what to expect.

Timeline

I will be filing my 1-751 waiver on November 1 (tomorrow) with the Vermont processing office.

I feel mt evidence is good - six sworn affidavits including one from my ex, one from her aunt, and several from US citizen friends. I also have lease, joint bank statements, utility bills, pictures all around the world of us together, booking confirmation from that travel, pictures with our families, emails while together etc, marriage counselling receipts, wedding party receipts for venue hire, wedding pics and newspaper announcements when married etc

Anyway, I was wondering whether there is any chance I can be approved without interview? Or is it likely it will definitely go to an interview?

Thanks!

Adding Scotsman to VSC list :) Looks like chance of interview for waiver filer is 50%?

Scotsman,

I am in the works for preparing to file my I-751 waiver based on Good faith marriage.. I have been talking to a few attorneys about this. And as per them, whether or not one case will be called for an interview is totally under the discretion of the officer who review your case... I was told that they(USCIS) are sometimes so resource crunched that Only one in a few gets called for an interview... I met with 3 lawyers and all of them were giving a good number of I-751 waivers being approved without interview in their recent practice history...

Hope it helps ...

Good luck..

thanks guys ;) - Yurika & Jim: if possible, I think you should put beside my timeline the following note or something similar: "(mailed missing divorce decree on 04/22/2011)" or "(decree sent: 04/22/2011)"

RESILIENT.........03/08/11......03/09/11......04/04/11................10/31/11..(Divorce) (decree sent: 04/22/2011)

...just so future filers understand why in my case it took longer for approval than the traditional 3 months, when there are no missing documents...

it was sort of a RFE, although I never received a RFE, I sent the missing docs before they had the chance to send me one... so it took 6 months after docs were sent. thanks and good luck to all!

I had an interview today and OH BOY! the officer who interviewed me was mean. I tried to be nice and polite but at the end I had it enough. I felt like I was accused by him. Is that normal? At first he asked questions about my ex-husband. Weird that I couldn't remember his birthday and our previous address. He also asked regarding the money, such as "did you offer him the money in order to get the green card?" "Did he ask for money?" " why did he transfer the money to his account before he left you?" Where did you get all the money? "So that means you paid him so you can obtain your green card?" blah blah..blah...The most unbearable question he asked me was why we ended up being divorced. And of course I started to cry and told him that he wants to find his identity and he asked why can't he do it with me. I said I asked the same question and I would love to hear an answer from him. He also said I looked nervous when we talk about the money issue and this was my last chance to be honest. If I don't tell him the truth i could lose my green card and might end up in jail or deported. Doesn't that sound like a threat? I told him I had a great job back in my country and made good money but the reason I am here is to be with my husband but unfortunately he is not here today. There's not much you can do about it when your partner doesn't appreciate you anymore. Also added that if my goal was to get that card why did I even attempt to commit suicide after he left? Did you check that part? SILENT MOMENT..He said he was sorry to hear that and asked me if i was okay now and he said I would get my green card within two weeks. It was a very overwhelming moment for sure and hopefully I don't have to deal with all these ####### again in future.

If you have an interview, be sure to check everything and be ready for it. Because I thought all the documents I sent was pretty relevant and I was confident enough to answer all the questions but obviously I didn't realize that they can play a mind trick.

Hope my interview review helped. I am certain that there are much nicer and gentle officers there but I wasn't lucky today.

wow, rabbit75. =(

that's so overwhelming, I am really sorry you had to go through this. I don't know, maybe it's just the normal procedure they are taught for when there are red flags in the application, or something like that? it sounds pretty mean... I wonder if they HAVE to do it like this, or it's just something they are kind of instructed to do in order to squeeze things out of people if there is really something wrong. in any case, it seems like it ended well but it must have been quite traumatic - (((hug))). after hearing your testimony, I am "happy" the therapist I went for months and months after the separation (to try and heal from the breakup) wrote a letter talking about my meltdown, which I sent with my application.

Denied waiver 10/26 reason that I have not sent them proof of divorce. I sent them final judgement of dissolution of marriage which is the divorce decree, thats all I can get, I asked court to send me a copy of my divorce decree they sent another final judgement which they said is the divorce decree, so USCIS are not reading it correctly. I have now got an immigration lawyer who has petitioned to have case reopened.

Now I am starting to get worried. I am pretty sure that I was approved after the interview on Nov. 8th 2011 but I didn't receive any notification from the USCIS. Should I wait little more or should I contact them and ask? Wow, this whole thing is making me insane.
