EAD no fingerprint available

I just received my EAD today in mail. I applied my AOS through marriage to USC in March. However, unlike everyone else, my EAD doesn't have fingerprint. Is it some kind of error and am I going to have a problem with it?

I think they just changed the design of the EAD's and green cards. Go to USCIS's website if you are interested in comparing yours with the new design, but it sounds like this might be the reason it is not "like everyone else's."

I looked that page on USCIS. My card looks exactly the same as the new version except it doesn't include fingerprint on it. In stead of the fingerprint, it says "Fingerprint Not Available". I am very worried... This may not be the correct card I was supposed to receive.

Hmm... USCIS sent it to you, so it is obviously not a fake. Wonder if employers would accept it without a problem? Why don't you call them or schedule an Infopas appointment?

I have the new design and my card does have my fingerprint. But I read somewhere that fingerprints are not necessary for EAD (otherwise they would have not issued you one).

Did you go to your biometrics appointment?

If you did, it might have been that your fingerprints were not registered or available at the time of the EAD production.

I don't think you need to worry about anything, but you can call USCIS and double check.

Thanks everyone. Yes I did go to the biometric. I believe the photo and signature on the card are the ones from the biometric. It's just so strange that it seems like I am the only person who did not have a fingerprint printed on the card. That really concerns me. Am I some kind of bad situation here...?

I highly doubt you are in any kind of a bad situation. Both the card and your employment authorization are valid.
