Can't find flights to the UK for under $1000

Maybe try to fly to a different Western European country, like Spain, and then get an Easy Jet or Ryan Air flight from there. I recently looked into that, but flights to Madrid were just as insane as getting to England. Looks like you may be spending the summer here...

I've been looking at Iceland Air lately. They fly from JFK to Glasgow. Don't know about this summer - being so close, but found fares for later in the year, RT for under $800 including taxes, etc.

I wished I lived in the UK! Being from Italy and living in Cali, flights are always pretty expensive. This year though, they are CRAZY! We bought in April to fly in July and we spent $1500 each LAX to Torino with 2 stops (Philly and Germany). Thankfully my mom is paying for my flight as it's for her wedding (she is remarrying!). Otherwise we would not have had $3000!!!!

Thanks everybody for your tips. I usually try expedia, cheaptickets and vayama.com, the last one is usually very good!
