If you have filed an I-485, I-589, I-751, N-400, I-90, I-821, I-131, I-130 or I-765, you can expect to receive an appointment notice to appear at an Application Support Center to have your fingerprints and/or biometrics taken. The timing of your appointment is determined by the number of applicants ahead of you that also need a biometric appointment. We try to schedule biometric appointments as quickly as possible and in most cases you will receive your appointment notice within 30 days of submitting your application. We will send your appointment notice approximately 14 days ahead of your scheduled appointment.

We filed I-130

The above quote is what I read from USCIS I was wondering if they will ask me the Petitioner to get fingerprints by appointment or my husband the beneficiary? How does this part work? (I know husband will get fingerprints later after NVC right? so I was wondering if this refered to me the petitioner.)

If someone can clarify this for me that'd be great!

Thanks,

Jen and Geert

I (the Dutchie) went the I-130 route and never got an appointment for the fingerprints neither did my US husband. They will obtain your fingerprints when you finally get your entry permit and you enter the country. At the customs at the airport you are set apart and they take your fingerprints and order your greencard.

FWIW, the majority of USC petitioners are NOT tagged to do biometrics, prior to NOA-2.

An infintesimally small percentage ARE, but usually is because something popped up on the namechecks, regarding criminal arrests or VAWA issues from prior marriage.

IF you've lived a clean life, so far, then you won't be tagged for further biometrics.
