We might be filling sooner than we thought, which is Awesome.

However, here is my question. We had to have the last three years taxes amended. Our tax lady told us to mail 2009 first, then, once we get the return for that one, send in the other two years.

This means that we will be waiting a few months (2009 is already mailed in, but since we haven't received the return yet, we are still holding on to 2008 and 2007). I am wondering if, once I receive 2009's return and mail the other two years if it will be safe to send in our AoS, or if we should wait until IRS send us the return for those years and everything is in their system.

We don't owe anything and the amendment was for the filling status only... I would hate to send in our paperwork only to be told that it doesn't match with the info they currently have.

11/07/10 ------- AoS Package received and singed for

11/10/10 ------- NOA1 received for I-130, I-485 and I-765 (emails)

11/12/10 ------- NOA1 received for I-130, I-485 and I-765 (hard copies)

11/12/10 ------- Touches on I-130, I-485 and I-765

11/19/10 ------- Biometrics appointment letter received

12/06/10 ------- RFE for I-693 (I think the issue is that it was not signed. Called USCIS and will receive a letter in a few days explaining)

12/13/10 ------- Biometrics done

12/16/10 ------- EAD card in production (email)

12/20/10 ------- Received "Letter of Explanation" for RFE (Service Request to expedite my case. Called USCIS and was told to ignore that and just send in response to RFE.)

12/22/10 ------- Touch (Email for Post Decision Activity on EAD saying that a letter of approval has been mailed out)

12/24/10 ------- Received EAD in the mail

12/27/10 ------- Applied for SSN

12/31/10 ------- Received Interview letter

01/03/11 ------- Received SSN card in the mail

01/07/11 ------- Mailed out response to RFE (I-693)

01/15/11 ------- Email confirming USCIS received RFE response

01/31/11 ------- Approved!

Pre-Adjustment of Status:

2006 -------- Met Online

02/07 ------- Visited him in the U.S. for what was suppose to be a few weeks (Came in with birth certificate and health card. Health card expired a few months after)

08/07 ------- Decided to get married because we didn't want to be apart (in the U.S.)

10/10 ------- USCIS Medical Done

IRS does not send you anything back... you do not have to wait for everything to be in the system...

Sorry, but no they do not.... you keep a copy for your records before you submit... nothing comes back...

In a few months you can request a transcript

Sorry, I didn't explain myself right. I didn't mean the tax return as in "paperwork" I meant "money" that they owe us hehe. But again, thx, I have a copy here of all three tax return and I'm adding them to the big ol' pile of proof. :lol:

glad to see that you are finally getting your amended returns in. this will help fund your process of becoming legal.

I agree, big time. The first one was mailed ages ago, not it's a question of sending the last twos and doing medicals... And stressing myself silly while we wait. :) But yeah, it feels so good to know that we're about to send everything in.

Quickly. When I submitted all the documentation with the applications, the only thing my wife had for income tax return was for 2008. She was not even in the country for the two previous years. So, that was the ONLY thing I had. Particularly, I sent in the applications in January, which means, my wife didn't do her taxes for 2009 then.

Of course, to the interview, I brought the return for 2009 with us in case my IO wanted to see further "evidence" because my interview was held on April 29 and my wife got her return in time.

Well, you know what happened.

Yes! I am approved!!! :)

It took only two (2) months to be approved. Hooray!

Timeline

December 5, 2009 - I-485 application was submitted.

January 12, 2010 - I-485 application was re-submitted due to address error.

January 20, 2010 - I-485 application receipt notice arrived.

January 25, 2010 - Biometrics notice arrived.

February 9, 2010 - Biometrics taken at local USCIS office.

March 5, 2010 - Initial Interview notice arrived.

April 15, 2010 - Employment Authorization Card arrived out of blue.

April 29, 2010 - Initial Interview scheduled and... APPROVED!!! :) Conditional GC will arrive in 2-3 weeks.

April 30, 2010 - SSN reactivated. Newly printed card will arrive in 3-5 days.

May 7, 2010 - Welcome Notice arrived! Hooray! :)

May 8, 2010 - Freshly printed SSN card arrived.

May 26, 2010 - Conditional GC issued.

June 1, 2010 - Conditional GC ARRIVED! Yippee! :)

June 2, 2010 - SSN upgraded. Newly printed card will arrive in a week.

June 9, 2010 - Freshly printed SSN arrived.

October 10, 2011 - I-751 petition was submitted.

October 18, 2011 - I-751 petition was returned. It turned out to be USCIS's error sending it back to me.

October 19, 2011 - I-751 petition was re-submitted.

October 26, 2011 - I-751 petition receipt notice arrived.

November 18, 2011 - Biometrics taken at local USCIS office.

December 27, 2011 - I-751 petition Approval letter was issued.

December 28, 2011 - I-751 petition Approval letter arrived

December 29, 2011 - GC was issued.

December 30, 2011 - GC arrived.
