Hi everyone, I've asked many questions on here and I'd like to first say thanks to everyone for their help. Since my fiance is from a MENA country, when I sent in the I-129F I included copies of cell phone bills, chat longs, emails, text messages, copies of about 6 chat conversations, hotel receipts, copy of my passport with stamp as proof we met, my flight itinerary, boarding passes and luggage receipts, photos of us together, and photos of us/me with his family. But I also have a letter from my parents stating their approval and support of our relationship and marriage, but I didn't have it at the time I sent in the petition. If I sent it in now seperately to USCIS would it make it into my file? I know USCIS doesn't really care about this, and I feel I gave them enough proof to be approved for the petition, but I'm just wondering if this letter would help my case once it is received at the embassy opposed to giving it to them at the time of the interview.

Also, I have read somewhere that I cannot be with my fiance at the time of the interview; is this true? If I can be with him for the interview, does it make a better impression or does the Consulate really not care?

Thanks all for the advice :)

Hi, I only want to give you advice on what I know. First, the letter will probably not catch up to your file with the USCIS.

Secondly, this type of letter really does not hold any weight (or maybe not much weight) in the eyes of the Consular Officer. It does little to change the stack of Primary Evidence or LACK of Primary Evidence that you have a genuine and ongoing relationship. Nor do such third party letters address any intent of immigration fraud or prove there is no intent of immigration fraud. These are the fundamental issues the Consular Officers or Adjudicators review in their mind and in the documentation.

Of course answers to questions during the interview can also be very important.

Do not worry about the letter, instead, make sure your package of primary evidence of a genuine relationship is a solid packet. Make sure it will be delivered to the Embassy. Try to add to this Evidence of an ongoing Relationship if you send in Packet 3.

A final note, I do not know your Embassy. I do not know if they allow the USC to attend the interview with the beneficiary. I know at my fiancee's Embassy, I am not allowed to go in.

Even if you are not allowed to go in, it is a BIG help at the interview if the Consular Officer knows you came for the interview. Your fiance(e) could show your passport with the Visa Entry stamp. Also you will be there to support your fiance(e) and make it a little easier for them.

I will not be allowed at my fiancee's interview, but I will be across the street waiting for her and supporting her in any way I can.

Good luck.

Hi,

So I can't give you any advice for your packet seeing as I haven't started the process yet myself. But what I can tell you is that if you go "Embassy Info" you can choose the embassy that you'll be interviewing at and it will tell you whether or not your fiance(e) can attend the interview. I checked for you and it looks like at the embassy in Egypt the fiance(e) can attend. (At least according to this page) http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=Egypt&cty=Cairo

As for the necessity of you attending your fiance's interview, I can't honestly say. But if it's at all possible I would say definitely go. I can only imagine that when the time comes I'll want to be there for my fiance for emotional support as well as for the (hopefully) celebration after you get approved! I don't know whether some embassies consider it mandatory for approval but I can say for certain it can only strengthen your case!

Best of luck!!

If you are allowed in, then I think everyone would recommend that you attend with your fiance(e). It will improve his/her chances significantly for the more difficult MENA Embassy/Consulates.
