Hi everyone, we are fortunate enough to have gotten out NOA2 last week and have already heard that our case shipped to Madrid on Monday. First of all my NOA2 date says its good between May 5 and Sept 5. I begin teaching in August- which is also Spain´s month of vacation time off- so we want to do our interview before August. I´ve heard that the embassy is pretty backed up with interviews from now till mid- July. I want to get my paperwork in as soon as possible to get an interview before August. My fiance has all his paperwork ready. Can we send the DS230 to the embassy before we have received Packet 3 or will that pizs them off? What is the general opinon on this? We just need to get a date! Thanks all!

Usually, you do not need to wait for Packet 3 to be shipped to you but you do need to confirm that the Embassy/Consulate has received at least your Electronic Files from NVC with you case number and other relevant information.

How you verify this varies widely with the Embassy/Consulate but if Madrid takes Email you could send them an email with your Case number, names and dates of birth to properly identify yourselves and ask them if they have received your case. Hopefully they can email you back rather soon with the information regarding receipt of your case and how and when to return Packet 3.

I emailed the Bangkok Embassy and they emailed me back 35 minutes later. Great service.

Am in same situation as you because my fiancee's work visa expires in August. From what I can tell, there's no email contact for them.

Poking around their website, I did find this:

If your immigrant visa case is already in our office in Madrid, call (34) 91 587 2244 any Monday, Tuesday or Thursday from 15:00 to 17:00

It's at: http://www.embusa.es/cons/immigren.html

Hi Meghan,

You would atleast need to await some sort of confirmation from your embassy that they have received your K-1 package from NVC.

Once you do that ,probably then you could send them your papers.Or try asking if you could scan and send them too!

Thanks for the info. We began filling out DS230 which helped, but needed to fill out another form in order to get the interview. This form is not available on the internet (to my knowledge) and came in Packet 3 in Spanish. It is a checklist for all the documents required that must be presented at the interview. You must indicate if you are petitioning alone or bringing dependents. You must also have your case number, signature and date. We are sending it in ASAP!

I tried this, but they refused to accept my paperwork early.. they said the physical file was not yet at the consulate and that I needed to wait for the hard copy to arrive and them to send me the pkt 3... the hard copy was already there.. it had not been processed... that took several weeks..

A common name for a girl in VN.... you can call DoS and they will know exactly when pkt 3 is sent out.. as son as it is sent, then you can send the response, but if you jump the gun it can add more time...

Nice. Good luck with the rest of your process. Hope the interview goes well. I'll be following your progress. Was a few days behind, but now a few weeks as NVC finally just got my items.
