So you just had your interview today Lucas? Congrats ! How was it?

What were the questions that they asked to you?

My NVC Journey

10/12/10 –NVC received the file

10/15/10 -NVC case # generated

10/18/10 -Called NVC and gave both beneficiary and petitioner email addresses

10/19/10 - Beneficiary emailed DS-3032 to NVC and also mailed the hard copy

10/26/10 - Called NVC and got the IIN

10/26/10 - Paid AOS fee $ 88.00

10/27/10 - AOS fee status shows "PAID"

10/27/10 - AOS package expressed mailed (next day delivery)

10/30/10 - IV fee bill generated and paid immediately

10/30/10 - Received AOS fee bill and DS-3032 kit and also received the confirmation of receipt of DS-3032

11/04/10 - IV fee bill status shown as "paid"

11/04/10 - Sent IV package (next day delivery)

11/06/10 - Received IV instructions packet (packet 3) via email

11/08/10 - AOS entered into NVC system

11/16/10 - AOS was reviewed and OK'ed

11/18/10 - IV entered into NVC system

11/24/10 - IV package was reviewed and generated artificial RFE for missing photographs (which was actually submitted with the package)

11/26/10 - RFE response mailed out

11/29/10 - RFE response delivered to NVC

12/08/10 - RFE response entered into NVC system

12/15/10 - SIF :)

12/15/10 - Case Complete :)

01/03/11 - Interview date assigned for Feb 15 @ 1:30 PM

01/17/11 - Medical done ! Passed

01/25/11 - Re-scheduled the interview for Feb 1 @ 1:00 PM

02/01/11 - Interview @ 1:00 PM - Approved :)

02/03/11 - Visa picked up from USEM

02/12/11 - POE @ JFK

All I remember was extremely a loooooong wait, nothing else. First they did tested me on the US gov, history, English. Questions were easy like:

1. when was the declaration of independece adopted?

2. how many years do we elect a president?

3. longest river?

and others that I do not remember. I answered all six correct and they stopped.

Then reading part - something about Lincoln. Easy! And writing: Licoln was a president during the civil war.

That's it. Then another hour of waiting and finally the interview, which went smooth - maybe max 10-15 minutes. That's it. Then again they had me wait to hand out the official oath ceremony documents and where and when will they be held. That's really all.

They did go through the application very, very thoroughly, but with no problems of whatsoever, if you say the entire truth. Hope this helps. All I can say as a few words of advise - do not worry, if you were always honest with them, you will do very well and it would be a simple mere formality. Thank you guys for everyone's support! Wish every one all the best always everywhere everytime! Take care!

7/2/2010 - Called mis-information line to put in a service request for STILL HAVEN'T RECEIVED "FP NOTICE"

7/8/2010 - LUD, at 2:32am, received text msg and e-mail for req. for add'l evidence being mailed out on July 6th, believe it's for the FP

7/12/2010 - Received FP notice in mail, scheduled for 8/2/2010

7/15/2010 - Walk in FP

7/22/2010 - Online status changed to "Case sent to local office for interview schedule"

7/27/2010 - Received interview letter for 8/23/2010

8/23/2010 - Passed interview, was informed that next oath date is 9/22/2010 and oath letter will come in the mail

It seems to me that walk-in FP saves lot of time out of the whole process. You have already received interview appointment but if you had waited for FP appointment which was scheduled for 08/2 you wouldn't have received the interview appointment yet. Wise step ! :)

Yea! Everytime USCIS sent e-mail/text msg to me, it's either 2 something am or 3 something am. I don't think that they're working late hours though, I think it's more of a automatic system.

All I remember was extremely a loooooong wait, nothing else. First they did tested me on the US gov, history, English. Questions were easy like:

1. when was the declaration of independece adopted?

2. how many years do we elect a president?

3. longest river?

and others that I do not remember. I answered all six correct and they stopped.

Then reading part - something about Lincoln. Easy! And writing: Licoln was a president during the civil war.

That's it. Then another hour of waiting and finally the interview, which went smooth - maybe max 10-15 minutes. That's it. Then again they had me wait to hand out the official oath ceremony documents and where and when will they be held. That's really all.

They did go through the application very, very thoroughly, but with no problems of whatsoever, if you say the entire truth. Hope this helps. All I can say as a few words of advise - do not worry, if you were always honest with them, you will do very well and it would be a simple mere formality. Thank you guys for everyone's support! 03/12/2009 - Notice of Receipt Date

03/14/2009 - 2 Yr Conditional Green Card Expired - Waiting for NOA with One Year Extension

03/21/2009 - Received Notice in Mail with One Year Extension

03/25/2009 - Biometrics Notice Date

03/30/2009 - Received Biometrics Appointment Notice for 04/08/2009

04/08/2009 - Completed Biometrics

04/09/2009 - Touched............Now the wait begins..........Still waiting.....

08/21/2009 - Received letter of approval in the mail!!! Oh happy day!! Dated 08/17/2009

09/20/2009 - Received 10 Year Green Card...Woohoo!!!

12/14/2009 - Eligible to File for Naturalization

Naturalization Journey Begins:

05/14/2010 - Used USPS Express Mail to mail my package to Lewisville, TX

05/24/2010 - Notice of Receipt Date

05/26/2010 - USCIS confirms Acceptance via sms and email

06/14/2010 - Received Biometrics Appointment Notice for 07/01/2010

06/29/2010 - Completed Biometrics - Walk in

08/02/2010 - Got Yellow Letter

08/09/2010 - Got Interview Letter Scheduled for 09/08/2010

09/08/2010 - Interview Date.....

09/08/2010 - Approved!!! Same Day Oath!!!!

10/12/10 –NVC received the file

10/15/10 -NVC case # generated

10/18/10 -Called NVC and gave both beneficiary and petitioner email addresses

10/19/10 - Beneficiary emailed DS-3032 to NVC and also mailed the hard copy

10/26/10 - Called NVC and got the IIN

10/26/10 - Paid AOS fee $ 88.00

10/27/10 - AOS fee status shows "PAID"

10/27/10 - AOS package expressed mailed (next day delivery)

10/30/10 - IV fee bill generated and paid immediately

10/30/10 - Received AOS fee bill and DS-3032 kit and also received the confirmation of receipt of DS-3032

11/04/10 - IV fee bill status shown as "paid"

11/04/10 - Sent IV package (next day delivery)

11/06/10 - Received IV instructions packet (packet 3) via email

11/08/10 - AOS entered into NVC system

11/16/10 - AOS was reviewed and OK'ed

11/18/10 - IV entered into NVC system

11/24/10 - IV package was reviewed and generated artificial RFE for missing photographs (which was actually submitted with the package)

11/26/10 - RFE response mailed out

11/29/10 - RFE response delivered to NVC

12/08/10 - RFE response entered into NVC system

12/15/10 - SIF :)

12/15/10 - Case Complete :)

01/03/11 - Interview date assigned for Feb 15 @ 1:30 PM

01/17/11 - Medical done ! Passed

01/25/11 - Re-scheduled the interview for Feb 1 @ 1:00 PM
