Hello, everyone seems to be so knowledgeable here so I thought I would pick some of your brains. SO, our petition was approved, yay! We received that notification on 2/28/10. We still have not heard anything from the NVC. It seems to me that most people received their packet or at least a case number in the first month, I could be wrong. I have tried to email and call with no success. My overpriced lawyers have proven to be a giant waste of money. We are getting very concerned something has gone awry. Can anyone advise me of whether or not this is a normal timeline, and/or what I can do to this point forward to get some answers?

Thank you in advance!

Thank you to all who come together to help All of us! :)

Call NVC, SPEAK to an operator and get your case #. It's probably been forwarded to your embassy by now.

NVC does background checks just like USCIS does and just like the Embassy will. Not much you can do but wait.

You should call them and speak to a live person....if u have not received a letter in the mail stating they have it with ur case number on it you need to find out if they have indeed received it and if it has been sent off to the embassy.......

Thanks for all the advice. I did call the NVC since posting and after about 4 hours of hearing a busy signal I actually go through. I recieved my case number and was informed that the papers were sent to the embasssy on March 5th. I then called the embassy and was told the packet was sent to my lawyers on March 12th. So, either the packet was lost in the mail or my lawyer has been sitting on the papers for just about 2 months. :(
