Marriage after applying for K1 visa (before approval)

Hello,

If my fiance and I apply for a K1 visa and then decide to get married in her country before the process is complete, what do we need to do?

If you get married, that will void the K-1 and you will have to go through the entire process of getting a CR-1.

The only stipulation of the K-1 is that the marriage must take place in the U.S. within the 90 days. Marriage outside the U.S. voids the visa.

You've applied for a fiancee visa. If you get married, she's no longer your fiancee, but is, instead, your wife. Thereby, she is no longer eligible for the K-1.

She would no longer be eligible for the K-1, like sachinky pointed out. You would then withdraw the K-1, forfeit your fee, and petition for a spousal visa (all fees needing to be paid again)

Sit tight and wait for the K-1. It will certianly put heavy delays on your case if you were to marry now
