The I-864 and DS-230 are processed seperately, by different 'review teams' at NVC.

Ya - I am thinking, now, based on yer data, maybe case complete by the end of the month. If it's faster, it's a blessing.

I will keep you updated if I hear anything from NVC.

By the way, when my parent goes to the medical exam, what she needs to take with her is the 'interview letter' from NVC, right? No other paperwork is required such as medical forms... The hospital will provide her with the forms when she is in the hosptial. She just needs to fill them out there. Right?

re: medical exam. YUP - but - if any problem for forms - can download them from the GUZ website, also, at

http://guangzhou.usembassy-china.org.cn/forms_and_packets.htm

in the IV Appointment Packet (“Packet 4”) section, click and download:

Medical Examination Instructions (GIV-8)

Important Notice to Immigrant Visa Applicants Concerning Vaccination Requirements

Medical Examination Forms (DS-2054,DS-3030, DS3026, DS-3025)

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Hi Darnell,

I just tried to login to the online payment portal and 'Sign-In Failed'! I can't believe my eyes so i tried a few times. It still shows 'Sign-In Failed'. I will try in the afternoon again. NVC only got my documents last Friday this time. Only a week they already reviewed all my documents? I don't want to be too happy now and disappointed later on. Have you seen anyone's case got completed in a week after the documents were received?

Can you also tell me if my mother in China will receive any documents in the mail after the case is approved and interview is confirmed by NVC? Interview date will be notified by NVC or Guangzhou Embassy?

Hi Darnell,

1 I just tried to login to the online payment portal and 'Sign-In Failed'! I can't believe my eyes so i tried a few times. It still shows 'Sign-In Failed'. I will try in the afternoon again. NVC only got my documents last Friday this time.

3 Can you also tell me if my mother in China will receive any documents in the mail after the case is approved and interview is confirmed by NVC?

4 Interview date will be notified by NVC or Guangzhou Embassy?

1. Congratulations ! That's some great news !!! SIF is pre-cursor to 'case-complete'. You are very close now, Hang in there !

2. TYPICALLY for an EP Case for Guangzhou - that is normal duration. NVC has been lagged for March, April and May, throwing this duration to 10 days, 2 weeks, 3 weeks. So, based on what's happened for March, April and some of May, I'd say you're inside the curve, an anomoly. But that's only my opinion, I study this stuff too much, like a data gister or a Mentat.

3. Maybe, maybe not - it's hard to say. Prior to March, I'd say yes. Since March, it's been hit or miss. She needs appointment letter and P4 pack. Appointment letter will come via email, P4 pack available for download at http://guangzhou.usembassy-china.org.cn/forms_and_packets.htm under IV Appointment Packet (“Packet 4”) list at the bottom of that page.

4. NVC, via email, in the form of an appointment letter. This appointment letter is official, btw, she can take it to the medical and guards at GUZ IV will let her in, with it.

So for this end of the 'cycle' - it's

--sign in fail

--final review

--case complete

--appointment date set

Hang in there !! You are REALLY CLOSE !!! Based on yer SIF date, I predict 'appointment date set' within 8 days, with interview date in July.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
