is it advisable to translate into english any love letters, email correspondence, etc. when presenting documents proving relationship? my wife is interviewing at the ecuador consulate next month and i'm not sure if whoever reviews those documents will be able to actually understand what they say, ya know? any advice? thx

No translation of those documents is needed. As has already been mentioned, for Ecuador, it is strongly advised that the USC petitioner be present at the interview. It avoids the need to delay the visa to schedule a second interview for the "couple".

For my wife's K3 interview we took a screenshot of all the email headings with date to and from. No consular wants to read your love letters, they just want to know there's life in the relationship.

As the other two posters advised, I would attend the first interview to avoid a second.
