Your POE is wherever your husband will first enter the U.S. That is, his first port of entry or landing.

You can "select" it by choosing the closest international airport to you and wherever you think it'll be easiest to pick him up from. Buy his plane tickets accordingly.

Plenty of people also land at JFK or EWR, clear customs/immigration and then carry on another domestic flight to Seattle or wherever their significant other's live. In that case, JFK is still their POE.

^^ Totally agree

Keep in mind that some people will POE outside of mainland USA. For example, if your spouse connects through Toronto - the POE will technically be in Toronto before you board the plane for the US. Also, note any visas the spouse may need if connecting in another country before the US (since the visa is just a piece of paper until you cross through a POE - as in not recognized as a permenant resident of the US until the US has been entered.

Good luck

A port of entry is a place where one may lawfully enter a country. It typically has a staff of people who check passports and visas and inspect luggage to assure that contraband is not imported.

This is a place where you enter first time in USA.

You choose your own POE.

Here is list by DHS of their POE's.

My Husband is from Tunisia, so they have no direct flights to USA, which means he will go from Paris to LAX (what I intended to do) Is this going to be possible? THANKS!

Yes it is possbile and your POE will be lax. When arrived at LAX your husband will have to go counter # 1. This counter is only for IV. Their they check his passport and keep it. Then they will tell him to get his luggage and come back to same place. They take his picture, finger print. This process takes around 20 minutes, since there is only 1 person working on counter #1. Last time I was there in March, and there were 3-4 people in line.
