can anyone share his/her experience in having to change address in the middle of processing of papers for immigrant visa and eventually request for a change of embassy/consulate for the interview?

We just moved in to another country and after only a month of reloaction, our NOA from NVC arrived. My parents paid the AOS Processing Fee bill and I sent the DS-3032 without notifying the NVC them right regarding our transfer. It was only after one month that I sent them a letter re my change of address. I called the NVC re the change of address and the advice I got was to send them a letter of request for the change of Embassy/ consulate for the interview. I just mailed my letter a few days ago. I quite anxious to know if our request will be granted... Please enlighten me on this. Thank you. Any response will be appreciated. God bless everyone.

If I remember right - you have to wait for the package to get to the embassy before you can re-route it to a different one.

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

WARNING: Phrases in this post may sound meaner than they were intended to be. Read the Adjudicator's Field Manual from USCIS

Does it mean, I did the wrong thing? :help:

If the file is still at NVC then it is still possible to get it changed ....

If the file has already been sent to the original embassy then you need to wait for them to receive.

YMMV
