Hey Folks,

I have seen the time lines of various users here and learned that within 9-12 days everyone have got NOA1. But haven't seen When was the fee's cheak cashed. It's been exactly a week and I am just little paranoid about any activity that hasn't yet happened.

Gurus please post any suggestions, or exact time in days for fee's cheak to get cashed.

Also, when do I get things going for DS-230 and I-864. I have already received completely filled DS 230 from my spouse. But some other documents such as PCC and bank documents for I-864, employment letter. When do I start the process of getting this things ? Is it when we receive NOA 2 ... or is it okay to get started now. .. considering that NOA 2 will take atleast 2.5 months on an average.

Please give your inputs.

Thanks

K

Usually, when you get the NOA-2 (approval notice on I-130 petition) -

it's a good time to start gathering up the documents needed for the DS-230.

then - anywhere from 1 week to 3 weeks past the NOA-2 date -

NVC will have yer casefile.

USUALLY - ppl want some speed at NVC, so they use LingChe's Shortcuts in the Wiki pages here.

NOA-1 (receipt notice) - you'll get that anywhere from 1 to 6 weeks after submittal - there's no 'hard/fast' rule about when it shows up, but it will be soonish.

Then, be prepared to wait up to 6 months for an approval notice (NOA-2)

If you follow LingChe's shortcuts, and yer prepared, you can get in/out of NVC within 30 days, if YOU drive it, if YOU push it.

Good Luck !

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Wow ... 5 months that's what USCIS states for I-130 IR-1. But most of the timelines here on VJ...states that they got approval on an average within 3-4 months.

Also, 6 weeks for NOA 1 ... most of the people got it around 2 weeks....than why 6 weeks........just curious to know.........

By the way when was your cheak cashed from the date they received I-130 ?

Things 'happen' when it happens. Variances are USUALLY due to CIS workloads.

The time spans are only guidelines.

If you'd like to dig into it further, hey ! study the timeline section here, both the general one and the one in yer portal. For some people, they start to get really anxious about this stuff, to the point of sleeplessness and anxiety attacks.

Be prepared to wait, ya? It is what it is, you (and thousands of others) have no direct input to speed things along at USCIS. You DO have some input, at NVC, though, if yer prepared and forearmed with both knowledge and complete forms/documents/packets and know how to 'work the system' from Reading LingChe's Shortcuts.

I got my NOA1 right after the check was cashed. I think the date on the NOA1 and the date the check was cashed were the same or one day apart.

Anyhow, I would not wait until your NOA2 to get started on the NVC stuff. Some of those things you should start doing soon. Your PCCs, your tax returns, your employment letter - look into them now because by the time of the NOA2 the NVC will just be waiting on you. And then you will be waiting on this and that person or agency to give you what you want.

Using USPS express mail, I sent it to the following address:

USCIS Lockbox

Attn: SAI-130

131 South Dearborn – 3rd Floor

Chicago, IL 60603-5517

I sent it on 8th April. I haven't seen cheak that's cashed yet, or not even an email/txt message for the acceptance of I-130 (G-1145 filed).

Is this the address that you all sent your application to. ?? ??

Thanks

K

well I sent it to the first address because of where I reside..Alaska:

from the USCIS site:

Where to File :

All petitioners filing stand-alone Form I-130 must submit their petitions to the Chicago Lockbox instead of a USCIS Service Center. Form I-130 petitions filed with the Chicago Lockbox will be routed to, and adjudicated at, the appropriate USCIS Service Center. This routing will be based on the petitioners place of residence in the United States.

Important: Any Form I-130 filed at an incorrect location will be rejected.

Petitioners who reside in AK, AZ, CA, CO, Guam, HI, ID, IL, IN, IA, KS, MI, MN, MO, MS, MT, NE, NV, ND, OH, OR, SD, UT, WA, WI, or WY must file their stand-alone Form I-130s with the Lockbox using the following address:

USCIS

P.O. Box 804625

Chicago, IL 60680-4107

Petitioners who reside in AL, AR, CT, DE, FL, GA, KY, LA, ME, MD, MA, NH, NJ, NM, NY, NC, OK, PA, Puerto Rico, RI, SC, TN, TX, VT, VA, U.S. Virgin Islands, WV, or District of Columbia must file their stand-alone Form I-130 with the Lockbox using the following address:

USCIS

P.O. Box 804616

Chicago, IL 60680-4107

Any U.S. resident petitioner submitting a completed stand alone I-130 by courier/express delivery, should use the following address:

USCIS Lockbox

Attn: SAI-130

131 South Dearborn 3rd Floor

Chicago, IL 60603-5517

I didnt have the option to send express mail since I was deployed. It has only been a week. I would give it a little more time before you start worrying. You will get a txt and/or e-mail pretty quick once they accept the package since you filed the G-1145 with it. Check my profile for my full timeline..mine was signed for on 14 November and I got the email and text on 19 november.
