No, i'm slamming YOU and you alone for being uneducated and ignorant. No, i didn't go on any scholarship, but you keep trying to make things up to make yourself feel better there. Are you really trying to say that having multiple degrees is a bad thing? I guess your McDonalds U diploma means oh so much more.

I was arguing that it's not completely misleading because has been wanted by the police for his actions. Yes, the title misrepresents what for, but the fact remains that he was in trouble with the law for his tweets about arming himself against immigrants.

So, the title would have been factual had it only said "Local Tea Party Leader Who Suggested Shooting Hispanics Now Is Wanted By Cops " and left off "Tweets arm yourself". Is it a stretch? Yes, but it's not far from what he was suggesting.

This argument is completely semantical in nature. The original comment that you had issue with said the title was misleading. You later agreed that it was, more than once. So what is the hoo-ha?

With multiple degrees, I'm sure you're smart enough to understand why it was misleading. Oh, since we're throwin it out there, I went to University of Miami, not McD's U ;)

And as a complete aside, I always thought you were the female, Mel...ALC's post says you're Rob. Dunno why I'm mentioning this, lol...but for some reason, I'm disappointed you're not Mel. hehehehhe.

The McDonalds U comment was directed at ALC. Miami University huh? That Miami of Ohio, or Florida? I had a friend who went to Univ. of Miami (FL) and majored in jello shots  Don't think I could have focused in an environment like that.

My entire argument was that it was just the tweet part at the end that was misleading in the title. That doesn't take away from the fact that this guy was a person of interest to the police.

Making things up is a staple for you, isn't it?

Multiple degrees are fine but in your case in means you learned little at multiple venues. You should go back and slap your professors or get your tuition money back. Colleges and universities aren't supposed to teach you how to memorize facts by rote. They are supposed to teach you to think well enough for yourself so you can go out in the world and use your brain to adapt to different challenges. If you don't know something you should able to look it up or find somebody else who can do the job. You don't demonstrate those abilities. In short, you earned degree(s?) by having your butt in a seat long enough to get a sheepskin.

Look closely at your statement I highlighted for you in bold font. Please explain why the police are looking for Thomas. I'll give some hints this time: Illegal tweeting? Tweeting without a puddy tat? Arming himself against immigrants?

Sometimes I don't why I do this to myself. I feel like a lifeguard trying to save a man wearing his prized lead lifejacket.

It's weird that there is a "debate" about semantics based on a comment that the thread title (which is actually the title of the article) is misleading and should be changed.

As Dave flounders in the choppy water with his life jacket, I feel like the only sane person in the nuthouse!

You have the comprehension and analytical skills of a pile of #######. It's quite laughable that you attempt to question my academic qualifications. But then again, you are just one big joke. Do try to make an actual point one of these days rather than argue semantics. You focus on the minutia and not the big picture which as per usual, you have no actual argument. Maybe you should learn those skills that you say that university teaches, because despite your ability to summarize what someone learns in college, you have no grasp of these concepts. I'll respond to you when you are able to actually post something intelligent, like getting back on topic perchance.

Wow, you used the word perchance in a sentence. Now I'm convinced you have multiple degrees!

Yes, the title is misleading albeit technically accurate.

It's technically accurate because the man now wanted by cops really did suggest shooting "spics".

It's misleading because the reader could reasonably assume the two are related, which they are not.

Which makes you wonder why such a big issue is being made of it.

Whilst news reporters and their editors are ultimately responsible for the content that yer reading, perchance something slipped up that day with an onerous linkage for the fella to be arrested on a hate crime?

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

why question your academic qualifications, as they are obviously of such little value? so you sat in a chair for 4 years. i'm not impressed. tell me what you have done of substance since then.

we are not arguing semantics, in this case. we are addressing the fact that the writer of the original article deliberately attempted to deceive his readers, and deliberately attempted to force them to draw an icorrect conclusion.

the individual in question was wanted for violation of a restraining order pursuant to a custody case. this has nothing to do with his aversion to and distaste for illegal immigrants. as for the validity of such restraining orders, all of us who have been through a nasty divorce know that restraining orders are given out to women like beads at mardi gras. the basis for such is nothing more than a sworn (often falsely) statement.

as for his comments in specific:

"Illegals everywhere today! So many spicks makes me feel like a speck. Grr. Where's my gun?"

this could be construed as an expression of concern for self defense issues. it is well known that hispanics are 18 times as likely to victimise a white as vice versa. it is also well known that illegal hispanics are the most violent of the bunch.

"Professionals advise 'Arm yourself' When Seconds Count - Cops are minutes away."

this is true, and good advice, also from a self defense perspective. professionals in the self defense industry do advise individuals to arm themselves (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Massad_Ayoob). more people defend themselves from violent crime every day than cops "save" from violent crime in a year.

in my opinion the man in question handled the situation poorly on many counts, including violating a protection order (valid or not), and allowing the question of his comments on twitter to be mis-characterised by some idiot in the media.

is that "on topic" enough for you?

Sorry shooter, I don't bother to read your posts anymore seeing your history of unintelligible diatribes. What impresses you is not of my concern, as I don't give a ####### whether you draw another breath or not. I'm not going to sit here and defend my academic credentials to a couple of imbeciles. If your political acumen is an indication of your intelligence in other areas, then you ought to be worried.

Of course you are going to defend his tweets. Your brand of latent racism in your posts is akin to his tweets. The fact remains, he is a member of the tea party, he is wanted for the police, and he did tweet to arm yourself. Not my fault that you dont' recognize a hyphen as a legitimate break in thought.

I am done with this thread. I'm not going to argue semantics with a couple of halfwit tards who can barely come up with a coherent thought between the two of you. Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum, you can declare victory here and fight amongst yourself as to who is who, and whom will be wearing the nifty hats denoting as such.

Seems to me the more interesting and even alarming person of interest....( if these violent types concern Steve so much) is not some nobody with a tweeter account but the Right-hand-man to Obama.. Rahm Emanuel.

Lets get a look at a little of his history shall we?

Emanuel is said to have sent a dead fish in a box to a pollster who was late delivering polling results.[17] On the night after the 1996 election, "Emanuel was so angry at the president's enemies that he stood up at a celebratory dinner with colleagues from the campaign, grabbed a steak knife and began rattling off a list of betrayers, shouting 'Dead! ... Dead! ... Dead!' and plunging the knife into the table after every name."[5][7]

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rahm_Emanuel

Steve is searching through millions of Tea=Party types to find one loose cannon when Obama found Rahm in a matter of days!

I don't even have to misrepresent any headlines about Ole Rahm, the facts say enough.
