DS-230 re-send/RFE and 2010 tax returns

I have to send another DS-230 for my wife because of some biographic data I carelessly left on line #30 of the DS-230 form. My question is, if I send this in after April 15, am I going to require 2009's tax returns also? I am on the last stretch here before it goes to Manila. Everything else was alright on the original visa application except for my wife's biographic residence. I have the revised application ready to send next week.

thanks,

martinbr

You can't send a return for 2010 yet....we are still in 2010 and taxes for this year are not due until April 15, 2011. Many people have filed their tax returns for 2009 already. I guess you are one of those who waits until the last possible moment? Considering that you are in this process, I'm surprised that you didn't file earlier. Personally, I would send the 2009 return and be prepared to be asked about it at the Embassy. (Otherwise they are looking at your 2008 return.) Why did you wait so long? I was told that each RFE adds about 24 days to the processing time. :crying:

Best Wishes,

Franc

PS It's not a "visa application"... it is a Petition.

It is not the end of the world.

Maybe she can take the 2009 returns with her when she walks in for the interview?

Call and ask them!

If you don't send your 2009 returns now in the worst case you get an RFE for the 2009 returns. Send it in then!

Is 24 days really such a big deal?

If you already sent the affidavit of support in to the NVC, that will be good...the 2009 isnt required until after april 15th...but who knows what the embassy will want. I'm hoping they wont want my 2009. I'm still waiting for a 1099 to be sent (they said they sent one, but I am having them resend since i never got it.) I will apply for an extension and then send the proof to my wife via e-mail for her to print out.

No, it's not a big deal. Take a look at the timeline. What's another 24 days. Futhurmore, I have been taking my time because of the shape of the U.S. right now. I live in the S.F. bay area which has one of the highest unemployment rates. But I still qualify on my taxes.
