I don't know the filing procedure for I 129 but with respect to the CR1 and I 130 process, you can't send NVC the DS230 until you first pay the AOS fill ($70) and submit the I 864 paperwork including thath I 864, letter of employment for the sponsor, tax transcripts of the current year plus two previous years, W2s and recent pay stubs. After that you get the DS230 package.

You mention you just got the NVC number and sent in the DS230. That is premature - again I'm speaking to the CR1 process.

Hi Christina,

ONE PHOTOCOPY OF EACH OF THE ABOVE DOCUMENTS NEED TO BE INCLUDED IN THE PACKAGE.

It is also recommended to add one page cover letter when submitting these documents, stating your contact information, case number, and that you are applying for CR-1/IR-1.

Example cover letter:

http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/DS-230_Cover_Letter

Make sure to write you name and DOB at the back of photos.

Also, write in small your case number on top of every document with pencil. That way, if for some reason, which doesn't happen, they misplace any of your documents, they know where it belongs. The reason to write the case # on top is because they don't go by names, rather they look at the case #.

For detailed information related to the above list of documents, you may go to:

Good luck!

just for anyone following this -

Christina is doing NVC Electronic Processing - she's an I-130 to be handled at Guangzhou, China - an IR-5 for a parent - for the steps - see http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/NVC_Electronic_Processing

----

Christina - good luck with the rest of it. Some of the China cases I'm tracking this week -

one had 'login fail' followed by 'case complete' followed by 'appointment date set' all this week.

another had 'login fail' followed by 'case complete', waiting on appointment date to be set, again - this week.

There was some slowdown at NVC in March , some internal process slowdown, but apparently it's picked up this week.

I'm thinking you'll have an appointment date set by Friday of next week - just a small forecast for you, based on what's been going down THIS week

Christina -

you are near the 'end game'.

some status ticks for you, in chronological order:

'login failed' - payment portal - Excellent sign that the DS-230 was accepted

'case complete' - NVC TeleOperator - must call NVC, get a Human.

'Appointment Letter sent' -via email to petitioner and beneficiary.

I'm forecasting you'll have a 'case complete' on Wendesday, with appointment letter on Friday, for now, assuming the DS-230 was sent in when you said it was.

Good Luck !
