Hey, you're welcome! Glad to be able to help.

So any update about your missing GC? Did you contact USCIS? I made a phone call too yesterday updating my application and asked if they mailed my bio appointment letter yet which they did not I don't know why maybe my last fingerprints were still valid (the lady whom I spoke with doesn't really know the answer) and she just told to me to wait few more days and make another call after 30 days after the NOA1 so we'll see…

I-10 west,

i dont have my SSN & GC either. i called USCIS yesterday and Jackie, the operator i talked to, told me to call them back after i have been in the US for 30 days! *sigh* i got here March 6th.

the operators dont really know most of the answers. here's a story:

a week after i got here i called USCIS and wanted to verify my mailing address since they always mess that up. they would mail stuff to the physical address instead of PO Box even though my hubby called them and informed them like 100x to send to the PO Box because we cannot receive mail in the physical address. anyway, all i wanted to do was verify the mailing address and the guy i talked to just CANNOT comprehend. we went as far back as our NOA1 receipt number for the I-130 petition back in september 2009! good thing i am a little bit patient because my hubby was already getting annoyed and wanted me to hang up. i stayed there on the phone with him till he finally understood what i wanted to know and checked the mailing address. the phone call lasted about 25 minutes  that long just to verify the mailing address.

metro and i have the same issue with physical address and PO box. they get their mails from the PO box too. and guess what, USCIS sent her GC to the physical address. and since like me, she cannot receive mail there, the card was sent back to USCIS. now she needs to wait ANOTHER 30 days so they can send the GC out to her PO box. that is my fear too :( *sigh*

Yeah, it frustrating sometimes when there's nothing you can do but to wait, wait and more waiting…LOL

25 minutes just to verify the address?? That sucks man. I have read some posts (not Philippines forum though) that they don't have issues using P.O box I don't know why you're having problems. Btw, may I ask why you cannot receive mails with your physical address? Anyhow, good luck girls and Welcome to the USA! TC...

Hello Mrs West,

Thanks again for giving me the shortcut for the USCIS. I spoke with them right after you gave me the shortcut keys, hehe and as what Abbie said, they sent it to me March 16 but it was sent back to them as the address where they sent it was the PHYSICAL ADDRESS (for UPS< FedEx, LBC and DHL only). I checked our papers about the address where to send the GC and we put the mailing address which is our P.O. Box. I am not sure why they got the physical address if they are using USPS. Oh well, however it happened, now I have to wait for another 30 days which is really ridiculous.

Thanks again for your help and I appreciate it!

I-10 West,

we didnt have issues with the address during the petition process. they all sent the documents to the PO box after the first NOA was returned to them. we clarified and made sure they understood to send to the PO box. no problems after that. but now i guess its happening again *sigh*

we have no mailbox here thats why we cant receive mails.

Hello Metro420,I just arrive last March 15 and I'm happy that I've already recieved my green card last 21st and my welcome letter last 22nd same month.I have no idea why your GC is las late. Just wait a little time maybe they are on busy this time. For my SSN, my hubby and I went to the SSN office for personally apply just to update.

Good luck......

just an update:

metro420 and i went to our respective SSA offices and filed an application and they said we will get our SSN cards in two weeks.

about the green card: metro420 finally got hers and i still don't have mine. i called USCIS a few times:

my calls to USCIS:

mid-March- to change my MAILING address to PO Box. the guy gave me a referral number AND he read to me my PO box address (to be sure it's right)

April 6- they told me that my GC was issued March 22nd and it was mailed out to the PHYSICAL address *sigh* and to call again in a week or so when the card will be mailed back to USCIS as undeliverable.

April 12 (today)

call #1- i called and asked for my GC and welcome notice. the guy said the letter and card were returned to them because they were undeliverable. i asked if they could just mail it to my PO box (thinking they already have it in their system). i was told to file for an AR-11 (change of address). i told them i already called USCIS for the change of address LAST MONTH! (BEFORE the card was issued). he told me i ALSO need to file the AR-11. ok fine.

call #2- to double check i called again and was told the same thing by the 2nd agent on the phone. so i filed the AR-11 electronically via their website.

after 4 hours.....

call #3- (i chose the change of address menu this time, i think it's 1-3-1) now to verify if they got my AR-11, the agent told me she DOESN'T HAVE access to my information and that to call again with the petitioner present!!! #######?????

geez! so obviously that mid-March call was useless.

what is annoying the heck out of me is why the guy i talked to (that mid-March) didn't tell me about filing the AR-11! AND also knowing the fact that metro420 didn't have to do the AR-11 and they re-mailed her GC to her PO box anyway! she and i have the same physical and mailing addresses issue.

this is becoming a green card nightmare :(
