We got a text message and email on March5th, and the NOA2 letter March 13th stating our approved petition was being sent to the NVC. Why havent we had/heard anything since?

I've called a few times today and get a busy signal @ the NVC

Once you get NOA2 USCIS has nothing to do with your K-1 (so you won't get anymore updates from them). You will have to call NVC to see if they have received your case, they will give you a new case number according to where your petition will be forwarded to. Once NVC says they sent your case out, you can call DOS to see if your embassy has Received your case.

Best time for me to call without getting a busy signal is at night around 10ish.

Here is a link of a forum that I found that helped me understand the process more clearly.

Hope you hear something soon!

Our petition seemed to take forever to get to NVC - phoned this evening and they said they had received it last Wednesday.

That's about 5 and a half weeks between NOA2 and NVC receiving it. Ours was also through the California Service Centre so perhaps they're just being a bit slow at the mo with sending stuff out?

I hope they get yours soon, the stress of waiting was driving me mad!

Hey Jules,

looks like we are in the same boat. I made numerous calls to NVC ( best time to call is early morning or late at night .. they stop answering about 11:40 pm EST )always the same answer .." not in the system yet ". Then a young lady told me to send a copy of the NOA2 by email to NVC research to have them track down the petition. I called USCIS to see if they could tell me when it was sent .... she did not have that info on her computer. Finally last Friday I called my congressman's office to have them make sure it was not lost or stuck between 2 file cabinets somewhere.

I received an email from NVC research about an hour ago .... it said they have contacted USCIS and my petition is " enroute " to NVC.

I would suggest keep calling NVC until you get thru to them and speak to an operator ... the operator will probably suggest you scan your NOA2 approval notice and email it to nvcresearch@state.gov with an explanation that you would like to find out where it is located.

Hell, you just might want to do that now ! B-)

This is the forum i found when I was looking for information on who to contact.. Dos stands for department of state, they track everything and they will be able to tell you if your P3 is sent yet or not.

You cannot call the MTL embassy.. you will speak with a robot.. that is it. If you are waiting for you interview date.. you have to speak with the NVC. They are the ones who schedule it. The only way to contact montreal is at their email address, and even then, you are looking at 5 weeks until you get a reply.

Congrats on getting ur case # though!!

Invictus..

Out of the night that covers me,

Black as the Pit from pole to pole,

I thank whatever gods may be

For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance

I have not winced nor cried aloud.

Under the bludgeonings of chance

My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears

Looms but the Horror of the shade,

And yet the menace of the years

Finds, and shall find, me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,

How charged with punishments the scroll.

I am the master of my fate:

I am the captain of my soul.

Ya see...when I called the NVC....they said they dealt w/ it no longer. If I had any questions I had to call the Embassy. I'm not waiting for my interview date...I'm waiting to just get a letter saying the Embassy has received it and my Packet 3...According to the NVC they sent it our March 15th to the Embassy....I still havent gotten anything from the Embassy....it's been 2 1/2 weeks almost!
