Eh - I work in Murrieta and we're near Hemet - If anyone is arrested in the near-surrounding area they come to court here. I'm not sure if any here have heard about the threats that the Hemet Gang Task force has had lately - it made national news a couple of weeks ago when someone lit a couple of trucks on fire in Hemet - tried to blow up the task force headquarters by diverting a natural gas line, tried to kill a deputy by rigging a home-made gun to a gate, etc...

I don't think the bomb threat had anything to do with that, but they're now taking every precaution because of the threats on deputies.

It really wasn't that big of a deal, because we're usually evacutated every couple of months or so because someone burned popcorn in the microwave.

I can't figure that one out too! Like really they are priority over married couples and couples with children?! Just proves how messed up everything is!

Ooh dont get me started on that one! you know what really pisses me off - spouses of H1B visas can basically just go to the consulate and get a visa that same f******g week!!!! i think its called an L1 visa or so. they cant do a damn thing, like work, get drivers license etc etc, but they can get it like in a week or so. its the only time i've cursed myself for being a USC and wished i had an H1b instead!

it is TOTALLY unfair and f*****d as to how USCs are non-prioritized! if anything we should have the right and priority to bring our spouses over. i can understand time pending for a security check and I'm cool with that. but to go thru the cattle run like this and have H1Bs and other categories take priority is totally messed up.

I third this motion, although not entirely. one of my good college buddies just had his K1 approved for his fiance (he's american, she's japanese) and it took him 4 months to get it thru the VSC. here's the kicker - he's in the foreign service and used to work for the American consulate being a visa and passport officer in Guyana (ie the one conducting the interviews!). he told me loads of fraud stories from Guyana. The K1s do get scrutinized a lot more than IR/Cr-1s...

what pisses me off the most (guess its an afterthought now), is the fact that it took almost 5 and half months to get my f'in USCIS approval despite the applying for the K3. when i had initially started the I-130 process, i had read on VJ to NOT go for the K3, as some cases have shown that it just delays the IR/cr-1. maybe the tagging the 130 and I-129F together did delay my approval, i dont know, as it ended up taking 5+ months to get the approval. i keep wondering if it would've been approved earlier had i just done the IR/cr-1...

if that stupid K3 rule had not been adopted on feb 1st, i think most of us would have been looking at interview dates already. i guess the K3 would have saved us about a month (well worth the extra 600 bux u pay to do adjustment of status when you get here on the K3), but then again, you have to wait to get a work permit and SS# etc etc and yes i know in the long run that the ir/cr-1 is the best way, but what i wouldnt give to have my wife here a month earlier!

Well guys I'm taking things more quiet... the NVC told me call today I'm guess what... Just 2 dial! and busy busy... pero i'm ok.... I feel like calling next week!

I really feel like God hates me... I can only see Jamaica being backlogged for May... of all the luck. Ppl getting interviews days after their case complete - February CC get early March interviews, CC in mid March get early May.. and I get stuck with more delays. Is this just a sign? I feel like giving up...

My only reasoning for the increased length of time for established families is simply to prove that nothing makes sense and therefore glimpses of rational things should be completely disregarded.

How long before the interview can hubby get his Medical? I don't think I saw the info on Mumbai Embassy site but will look again just in case.

P.S. I guess it was there;

Prior to the interview, all immigrant visa applicants (regardless of age) must undergo a physical examination by a panel physician designated by the Consulate. Only authorized doctors may complete this examination. Applicants should contact the panel facility directly to make an appointment for the examination after they receive their interview appointment letters.

But is there an expiration date on the medical?

I'm not sure which one he will go to yet but I told him to go to Apollo Hospital. Somewhere I read that the Drs are great there & because his vaccination card is lost thats the best place to go. I could be wrong.
