You do understand the notion of universal right?

and what street drug have you used to do so much damage to your brain to think that this should be a universal right along side the right to life liberty and the persuit of happiness.

Americans already pays more than double per capita in health care costs yet don't get anything special and have a shorter life span.

we pay more than double due to the flood of illegals that are breaking our system, and the medical malpractice suits. no other country in the world has to contend with these issues and this bill does nothing to correct these 2 problems

Funny, I went over the Constitution you keep under your pillow and fail to find the world corporation, look out for your own or profit. This attitude is what is starting to change in America. It's a country by the people for the people. Furthermore, no matter how deep the pockets of corporations are, you cannot suppress the will or voice of the people. Though, it does come across that everything you hate about government, you have no issue with a company doing.

companies are not living breathing things themselves they are made of real people, not just high-paid executives pulling strings at the top, who make their livlihood as a function of a company being profitable. If i do not like the way a company does business I have the right not to give that company my money. With government on the other hand I do not have the right to withold my money. If they do things I dont like I still have to pay them or go to jail. So yes I do have a problem with the government behaving the way that a company does.

Actually this drives their cost down. Not having such a massive expense is why small business owners are so successful abroad. Any small business owner against this bill does not know what the heck they are talking about. Furthermore, need to take up a basic accounting class.

expelling illegals and limiting lawsuits would drive the cost down much more effectively.

It's ok, I certainly am not putting you on trial here but merely trying to understand your logic. Thank you kindly for your honest answer.

We all make mistakes in life that we regret. But remember, it's not where you have been but where you are going, amen?

though I do not subscribe to an abarhamic relgion I will afirm my agreement. amen indeed

It baffles me that this debate has continually centered around abortion and illegals as opposed to the constitutionality of requiring citizens to purchase a service from private companies.

Most legal scholars who have considered the question of a requirement for individuals to purchase health coverage argue forcefully that the requirement is within Congress’ power to regulate interstate commerce. Take Professor Erwin Chemerinsky, a renowned constitutional law scholar, author of four popular treatises and casebooks on constitutional law, and Dean of the University of California Irvine School of Law. Professor Chemerinsky has gone so far to say that those arguing on the other side of the issue do not have “the slightest merit from a constitutional perspective.”

In arguing that a requirement to have health coverage falls within Congress’ power to regulate interstate commerce, Professor Chemerinsky compares health care reform to the case of Gonzales v. Raich — often cited by the other side.

In Gonzales v. Raich, the Supreme Court held that the Federal Government’s Commerce Clause powers extend to the cultivation and possession of small amounts of marijuana for personal use. Professor Chemerinsky notes that the relationship between health care coverage and the national economy is even clearer than the cultivation and possession involved in Gonzales v. Raich.

[*]Illegal immigrants will not be allowed to buy health insurance in the exchanges -- even if they pay completely with their own money.

Why the hell not?

Aren't they supposed to file taxes like everyone else? Are they going to be exempt?

Since when?

ripping people off and making a profit are no where near the same. I feel much more ripped off by my government and the ponzi schemes known as medicare and social security that i am forced to give my money to than by any corporation that i choose to give my money to.

in all 3 cases my depression over being in relationships with women that I didnt really want to spend my life with, made worse by feeling like the person, or type of person, that I would want wouldnt ever have sex with me much less get into a relationship with me overode all sense of adherence to responsible behavior.

the girl that got pregnant twice--- on the first time around her sexual enjoyment, and therefore mine, was heightened by reminding each other of the risk of pregnancy at key moments. no birth control was even contemplated.

the 2nd time was honestly a contraceptive failure.

in all 3 cases i had resolved that i would rather die than have to raise a child with either of the 2 women, and it was not until about 6 months into the relationship I started with my now wife who is represented by the irish flag on my profile, which was about 4 years after leaving the 2 times girl above, that I realised what a fool i was for dipping my wick into women that I knew before hand that I would not spend my life with. My wife changed my entire perception of what levels of happiness were possible for me and ended my depression forever. Ironically my wife has a thyroid condition that makes conception very difficult without proper hormone replacement that is too expensive for us currently.

people might ask, given this, why am i not in favor of health care reform. My primary retort is that our healthcare would not be so astronomically expensive to begin with if Doctors did not have to insure themselves against astronomical frivolous lawsuits and if the system wasnt breaking under the constant flood of illegals from over our southern border. This bill does nothing to stem the tide, and amnesty for the illegals currently here, and future border jumpers as well, is coming before the 2010 elections. Without addressing these issues punishing insurance companies' abuse of their policy holders will do little to cut our healthcare costs. It is nothing but a political handout from obama/pelosi/reid et all to the poor, unions, and minorities that got them elected. I need give no further evidence than point to the delay on taxing the high-value insurance plans that the uaw has enjoyed for far too long. This union has it's own private golf course ffs how many more handouts do they need?

wow thats a lot to squeeze into 1 post.

i welcome the questions and the attacks. while some components in my past are indefensible I stand by my convictions with full force against this health care bill.

My comments weren't meant to attck (I apologize if it sounded that way). I was curious to know what was in you & the women's minds while this was happening.

my overshare and over reaction to comments made are spurred by the guilty conscience that I still carry with me to this day over these trangressions.

the short answer as to what was in my, or their, heads is not much

i think my previous post is sufficient to provide the long answer.
