I'm from San Diego, my fiance lives in the UK. We are preparing our paperwok for an I-129 Fiance VISA. We have a question about the Fiance Letter of Intent, that we downlaoded from the site. The letter asks for the name of country where the Embassy is located.

Do we write United Kingdom on both letters of intent?

I'd say so. We did and haven't been questioned.

Hey there, the site one is a little misleading.

When you file your petition I129F your letters of intent should have the address of the service centre you are sending it too.

When you get to the interview stage and you will need to both prepare new letters of intent, THAT'S when you put the address of the Consulate of your fiances country.

So, if you are filing to the Vermont Service Centre, that's the address both of you will put on the letter of intent.

Months down the road when you have your interview, you'll both put the address of the foreign Consulate abroad.

When you say that you are supposed to prepare new letters of intent for the interview stage, do you mean that you are supposed to send them into the embassy or have them along at the interview.

My fiance is waiting for his interview in Dublin and nothing like that was ever mentioned.... He has the exact copy of the I129F petition which contains our original letters of intent, but we never wrote new ones. Is this something we should be doing?

On my interview letter it stated I had to have another letter of intent stating my fiance is still free and willing to marry. I was under the impression everyone had to have this.

This letter has to be signed and dated by him, and I too have to have one.

It's for the interview itself, when you go you take it with you.

Check the first page of the interview letter...mine was stated right on it. Maybe it's different in each country.

Thanks for the info! We are actually waiting for James to get his interview letter, probably why we hadn't heard about it yet. I know each country is different so it might not matter for us, but now that I know, I will send one to him just in case. Thanks so much!

We addressed our letters to the embassy in Manila and it was ok.

the reason for the LOI during the interview is just to confirm that petitoner & benefiaciary are still willing to marry at their free will and their minds hv not chnaged since applied
