Hold on there Bucko!!!

You were speaking of the Constitution! And the Declaration of Independence. These were the 2 documents you brought to the discussion. Not the Bill of Rights. Now you are changing the game rules here.

The new health care bill can be 'perfectly legal' if the congress wants it to be so.

The assurance you will get your own health care as granted by the same bill.

the bill of rights is the first 10 amendments...

what if i already have my own health care? again, what does this bill do for me other than take more money out of my pocket?

You might want to re-think that statement otherwise you will look foolish.

The Constitution as written by Thomas Jefferson, did not contain any passage authorizing any Federal income tax. That was added for paying the WWII war costs.

The voices in your head are misinformed. Take your meds. If I have to tell you again, I'll have to charge you for the advice.

No more misinformed than the ones in your head.

WWII?

The Sixteenth Amendment was ratified in 1913.

Thomas Jefferson did not even sign the Constitution, let alone write it.

Correct, the poster referenced the 16th amendment..

None the less, Thomas Jefferson wrote none of them IN the Constitution, As I stated. They were all added to the Bill of Rights. Which is not the Constitution...

Jefferson didn't write the Constitution. The Bill of Rights is the first 10 amendements to the Constitution.

Someone needs an American government class.

No such thing exists. Jefferson wrote the Declaration of Independence. Madison wrote most of the Constitution.

What world do you live in???

Authors of the US Constitution

A man named Gouverneur Morris of Pennsylvania was in charge of the committee to draft the final copy of the Constitution. Other men who had much to do with writing the Constitution included John Dickinson, Gouverneur Morris, Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, Thomas Paine, Edmund Randolph, James Madison, Roger Sherman, James Wilson, and George Wythe. Morris was given the task of putting all the convention's resolutions and decisions into polished form. Morris actually "wrote" the Constitution. The original copy of the document is preserved in the National Archives Building in Washington, D.C.

If you really want to pick nits about it:

Jacob Shallus (1750–1796) was the Engrosser or Penman of the United States Constitution whose hand-written copy of the Constitution is on display in the US National Archives.

Jacob Shallus served as Assistant Clerk to the Pennsylvania General Assembly at the time of the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia. Although his name appears nowhere on the official document, the investigation into the identity of the Penman in 1937 for the 150th anniversary of the Constitution revealed the identity of the transcriber and that $30 was paid for "clerks employed to transcribe & engross."

So Jacob was the one who actually put pen to parchment and 'wrote' it, but thats not what I meant....

Of course not. What you meant was ignorant and factually incorrect.

Now would be a good time to stop digging a deeper hole for yourself.

Jefferson was the US Ambassador to France during the Constitutional Convention. He certainly influenced the document, including the Bill of Rights, but was not an author of it. James Madison is known as the "Father of the Constitution" because his contributions in the Federalist papers had a direct impact on the framework of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.
