We have checked our status on the USCIS website and it shows that our case went from Initial Review to Post-Decision Activity, skipping Request for Evidence, and Testing and Interview. Does that mean there will be no need for an interview? What is the time line in this case?

Thank you to all responders!

Hi,

That means that your initial petition got approved. It is no good to get to anything else in between these two steps hehe!

So congrats on your RFE-free approval.

And now you still have some steps left before the foreign beneficiary gets the K-1 Visa

Do read the guides if you have more question and fill in your time-line so that everyone can help you when you are stuck.

If the status on the USCIS website shows Post Decision Activity this means that the I-129F Petition has been approved. Your petition still needs to go through the NVC phase, then on to the Embassy where you will receive instructions for the documents and steps that are required to undergo the INTERVIEW with the Consulate. If you pass the interview you will be issues your VISA.

You are 1/2 way there... Read the guides so you can get a jump on what is required from you in order to pass the interview stage at the Embassy.

Thank you to all responders!

Your confusion stems from not learning the process including the difference between filing a petition and applying for a visa. This confusion is contributed to by those who carelessly interchange the terms.

Your petition is approved. Now the case goes via NVC to the Consulate, where your fiancee will be invited to apply for a visa. USCIS is "post decision" now because their part in the "visa" process is complete.

I will disregard the put-down and will simply say that the USCIS website isn't built in the most user-friendly manner.

Thank you for filling in the official blanks.

He wasn't personally putting you down but Pushbrk (and the rest of us) see 10+ posts per week where the word Visa is used incorrectly (where the word petition should be). It creates confusion to the Newbies and we're all here to help one another through the process.

Congrats on your NOA2 and good luck for the interview.

I just noticed that the first post was few days ago, so.. the same happened to me!! Here's the situation: we just got the NOA1 hard copy in the mail yesterday, and they cashed the check on the same day. The notice day on the NOA1 is the 18th, just one day after they received the petition. I went on the USCIS website immediately, created an account and checked my status. My case was touched again on the 22, and the status was "initial review". I just went again now (I know..) and there MUST BE an error! The case status is the last blu thing "Document production or Oath Ceremony" and on the top says "Your Current Case Status for Form OS155A, IMMIGRANT VISA AND ALIEN REGISTRATION! !! And I can't get on my portfolio as it gives me an internal server error. How is that possible??! What's wrong with the receip number??! I know it's a mistake, I am just worried that there might be confusion or something, I don't know!

Sounds like you're inputting the wrong case number.

But that's exactly the case number on the Noa1, and it was ok yesterday..

Then you'll need to call and ask what's going on. The case may have been incorrectly updated in the system.
