Thanks guys! I`m now in Montreal, using the in-room internet at Le Dauphin. I found out rather quickly that it`s pronounced DOUGH FEIGN as opposed to DOUGH FAN, like I was pronouncing it. Indeed, all this French stuff everywhere makes me feel like...like...like an immigrant! :P

But yes, the room is beautiful, as others have mentioned, and already I would recommend it. The decor is great! It was actually quite easy to get from the airport to here too -- the Aerobus takes you to a main bus terminal, and they`ll give you a free shuttle ride to the hotel. Well, they have a tip jar...so in my case it was a $2 shuttle ride. :P

Fortunately it actually FEELS like 8:00 to me...so hopefully I`ll be able to sleep decently tonight.

So now I think I`m going to go for a little dual-purpose walk. Purpose one: source out the Consulate. Purpose two: source out poutine!

I`ll log in again before I hit the hay. Thanks again for all your `bonne chances`. :)

Does anyone know what the "A" signifies? We were "A" people, but it still took forever and I don't think we were out until noon (if memory serves, which it sometimes doesn't).

They are letters they give out that denotes your place in line. In theory you should have been first up. I assume, since you had domicile issues - that the person who was going to be doing your interview was either reviewing the file or busy with something else, since 98% of the time it's the same guy who handles visa applications that have domicile proof required.

Back at the hotel now after the interview. It was all very smooth and easy...nothing to worry about! I froze my butt off outside the consulate for about an hour and a half before the doors opened (I got there at about 6:10), and sort of regretted getting there THAT early, because the next person didn`t get there until about 6:45...AND he wound up getting the A! :protest: It was because they had two x-ray lines going and I guess I was a bit slower than the other guy. Grr.

Anyhow, I`ll post a review shortly! Just wanted to let you know in the interim that I got in! Wheee!!!
