Why is that some of these some of these mid-life crisis "conservative" types use the material trappings of success (the car, the "hot wife", how many guns they own etc) to validate their opinion of themselves as Ubermensch?

Once I heard the argument from someone(a strict atheist) that atheists are and always have been smarter and more intellectual than God believing folk. According to them, man was first atheist and then started making up things to believe in. One would wonder then, how could such smart people (i.e. atheists) start believing in nonsense in the first place if they were so smart? I realize no one here is saying this and many will roll their eyes at my story. But still, I felt like writing it. Pat yourselves on the back for having higher IQ's! Yay!

Being religious should be considered a strong symptom of an intellectual disability. Enough of a disability that y'all should be given handicapped license plates and allowed to park right in front at the mall. You'd love that.

well, we got tested in grade school, in middle school, and in high school.
