I-765, approved ..the Step was on the last: "Document production or Oath Ceremony"

And said something: Allow 30 days etc etc..probably for the work permit to be sent.

That was 2 days ago.

Today, the Step went ONE step BACK to: "Post-Decision Activity" (Note, thats one step back, since the steps are:

1. Acceptance

2. Initial Review

3. Request for Evidence

4. Testing and Interview

5. Decision

6. Post-Decision Activity

7. And the LAST step: Document production or Oath Ceremony

And it now also says instead of the allow 30 days, it says: "On February 18, 2010, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I765 APPLICATION FOR EMPLOYMENT AUTHORIZATION. Please follow any instructions on the notice"

What was wrong with that it was approved and it will be sent in 30 days? why did they change it? :/

Not to worry . . . the drones at USCIS don't communicate with one another. It's all normal in their world. Just ignore it, yet you will encounter the same screw-up again when removing conditions.

There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all . . . . The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, of preventing all possibility of its continuing to be a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities, an intricate knot of German-Americans, Irish-Americans, English-Americans, French-Americans, Scandinavian-Americans or Italian-Americans, each preserving its separate nationality, each at heart feeling more sympathy with Europeans of that nationality, than with the other citizens of the American Republic . . . . There is no such thing as a hyphenated American who is a good American. The only man who is a good American is the man who is an American and nothing else.

The problem is mainly that those nice lighted circles on the website are a relatively new addition to the USCIS website, and are actually in the wrong order, relative to how the administrative procedures actually work :)

When my EAD was approved, the sequence went like this:

Received a "Card Production Ordered" email on 2009-11-10. Status changes from "Initial Review" to "Document Production".

Received a second "Card Production Ordered" email on 2009-11-16. This is when the I-797D mailer for the card is created and dated.

Status dialed back from "Document Production" to "Post Decision Activity, and an "Approval Notice Mailed" email received on 2009-11-17. This is when the actual card was mailed.

Last time I checked, it was still on "Post Decision Activity", where it will probably stay until the end of time :)

So you see, their circles are in the wrong order. "Document Production" isn't usually the last thing they do, and therefore probably shouldn't be the last circle.

BTW, my AOS approval was basically exactly the same: Two "Card Production Ordered" updates followed by a dialing back to "Post Decision Activity", so expect that when it happens.

Thanx Guys :)

btw what is removing conditions?

A ) :guides::)

B ) If you have been married for less than 2 years at the time your marriage-based green card is approved, your green card will have an expiry date 2 years after its approval date. This means your permanent residence status is "conditional" and will automatically expire in 2 years. To prevent this from occurring, you must, in the 90 day period before your green card expires, file a form I-751 with USCIS, accompanied with a small boatload of evidence that your marriage was and remains bona fide. When this application is approved, you are said to have "removed the conditions" from your permanent residence, and are issued a green card with a ten-year expiration date. You switch from being a "conditional permanent resident" to a "legal permanent resident". While you will still have to renew your green card when it expires every ten years, your permanent residence status will no longer be automatically expiring with the green card.

What if you are married for more that 2 years when you file for AOS ? Do I have to file the removal of conditions form with my AOS or will they automatically give me a 10 year GC ???

If you are have been married for more than 2 years when you are awarded a green card via marriage to a US citizen, yes, they give you the 10 year green card right off and you do not have to subsequently remove the conditions 2 years later. Once you have your 10 year green card you are done with USCIS for the next 10 years or until you want to file for naturalization.

BTW, you get better answers from more people quicker when you start your own thread instead of tacking your question on to the end of an existing thread. Just sayin' :)
