OK NOW I'M WORRIED......

OK I received my appointment date today!!! interview date: march 23rd, 2010 but now I have a problem.

In 2007 I couldn't pay my taxes in full for that year so I started a payment plan with the IRS. Back then, my balance was $4000+ and by now I owe to the IRS less than $800.00

I paid my taxes in full for any other year since I started filing taxes including 2009.

2007 was the only year that I couldn't pay my taxes in full.

So is this going to be a problem at the embassy? Should I pay the remaining balance in full or could I just keep with my payment plan?

I know that paying the balance in full sounds nice and easy but right now I'm very low in cash I just paid 2009 taxes plus I'm buying the air tickets to Bogota for the interview at the embassy for me and my wife (she lives in Cali) . So paying in full the remaining balance will be kind of hard right now.

From what other VJ members have said about their debts with the IRS when on a payment plan the CO will likely subtract the amount owed from your income. So if you're close on income it could put you under the line.

Thank you I think I will be fine I only owe to the IRS $800.00 and my 2009 income was 50k+
