Sigh...we may actually have to reschedule our interview. All this waiting and now that we're at the proverbial pearly gates, we're not ready. It's going to take 3-4 weeks to get the police certificate, but the Chelyabinsk police station only accepts walk-ins on Mondays. May 3rd and May 10th are Russian national holidays, so the earliest we can do this is May 17th. If we can't pay the "expedited service fee", then we're probably cutting it too close for a June 8th interview.

Time to search the forums to see what others have done regarding reschedules. Poop.

K-1 Timeline:

2010/02/08: I-129F package sent via USPS Express Mail

2010/02/12: Received at CSC by Linda Fairbanks

2010/02/16: NOA-1 issued

2010/02/17: Check cashed (no legible receipt number on back)

2010/02/22: NOA-1 hardcopy received

2010/04/02: Touched

2010/04/04: Touched again (Easter Sunday?!?)

2010/04/05: Email/text notification of NOA-2

2010/04/05: NOA-2 Notice Date on I-797

2010/04/12: I-129F received by NVC

2010/04/15: I-129F petition left NVC for Moscow

2010/04/16: I-129F petition enjoys a layover in Cincinnati, OH

2010/04/18: I-129F petition hangs out in Vitoria, Spain

2010/04/20: I-129F petition drinks a bit too much lager in Leipzig, Germany

2010/04/22: I-129F petition arrives in Moscow, looking like it was rode hard and put away wet

2010/04/25: Emailed the U.S. Embassy in Moscow asking for interview date

2010/04/28: Response from Moscow that our interview is 8 Jun 2010 at 10am

Yea you're right Monday May 3rd everything is closed because of the May 1st Spring and Labor Celebration Holiday. (Has to do with Chicago workers going from a 15 hr workday to 8 back in the 1880s... the idea spread....)

Monday May 10th, everything again is closed because of the Victory Day Celebration on May 9th (Commemorating the victory in WW2).

I think if you reschedule you'll get the date in early July. Keep us posted!

There are relatively few people behind you Salsa. In terms of petitions sent from the NVC in the last week or so that is 46 lbs of petitions, that could be 30-40 people if not more. I would think the embassy has the capacity to adjudicate a hold bunch of K-1 petitions/working day.

UPDATE!!!!!! Interview date SET!!!!! Just called DoS for my daily dose of dejection, and we got it! June 2, which is about five kinds of perfect.

Pulling for everybody. Things are moving. We had really been starting to lose it a bit so I really feel for people that are having complications like Salsa Shark--hang in there. It's so hard.

I hate the post office!!!!!!! i got this message last night from USCIS

Document production or Oath Ceremony

On April 28, 2010, the post office returned your document I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E) as undeliverable. We will hold it for 180 days from April 28, 2010 to allow you time to contact us. If you do not contact us at 1-800-375-5283 within 180 days, this document will be destroyed and you will need to file a new application or application for replacement with fee.

The issue is where i live we do not get mail delivery we are provided a PO box and all mail is forwarded to that box by the post office idiots. I called the number and they will resend to my PO box direct now...... sigh...... i just wanna bury my head in the sand some days.

That is awesome! I LOVE seeing a UK flag with an interview date attached to it! I'm hoping to get our P3 by next week so we can send it back and get an interview early July. You are helping me keep my hopes up for that. Good luck!

Jeez, Da Bears - it really sucks when this process is held up due to someone else's mistakes... :[ I hope you're back on track quickly.

I'm at work at the moment, so Matt poked me with an email saying that we got a letter with our new case number. Awesomesauce! I'm ready to take it slower from here and relax more, instead of checking up on things every day, so it's going to be a quiet few weeks before we get our hands on the actual P3 stuff.

I love that the interview dates keep coming, too!

That's me! Ever since the volcanic ash stuff I've been checking how long its taking a petition for Moscow to get there. Looks like NVC likes to package multiple petitions when sending via DHL. Since two weeks ago Moscow has now received 61 lbs of petitions. I assume they contain H1B, K1, K3, etc.
