Okay this question may seem wierd, but please bear with me.

I have received my visa in my passport. It has an expiration date two years from the interview date. So am I too assume that a K3 visa only requires that you give your information to customs and is not an activation like the K1 visas. Do I have to cross within a certain time frame of 6 months like the K1 visa holders?

The lady at the consulate said that when I go down that my children and I should all go down at the same time. I wanted to visit my husband before a time when the children can come with me. Is it possible to go down without submitting your package so I can submit it when my children and I are together? I know that a K3 is a multi-entry visa so the concern I have is submitting all our envelopes at the sametime.

Thanks,

S.

I love being a Canadian.

K3 is multple entry for two years. You can wait all but a day of the two years for your first entry or entry 700+ times during the two years.

Interesting question. Our case was a little different as the K3 was issued 4/17/2007 and the K4s issued 10/10/2007. All had a 4/17/2009 expiration. Rin entered the first time on 4/18/2007 (straight from embassy to airport to USA!). Her children on 10/14/2007 (but with the same expiration as Rin's). This would suggest entry can be subsequent for the K-4s.

I just looked, and the children's entry stamp was issued with a 10/12/2009 expiration (Rin's was stamped as 4/17/2009). Not sure why they stamped the children's with a date after their visa expiration (hadn't even checked til now). Rin's did not have an entry stamp when we entered in October 2007, so no record in passport (other than the stamps for entry/exit in Thailand). We went this year (with GC), they stamped it and marked it with 'occ 22 days' as we were in Thailand three weeks.
