Also know your Social Security Number.

The biometrics is one of the easiest parts of the process. Bring your appointment letter, your identification (passport or Driver's License) and your green card to the listed address. Present the letter and identification and green card to the security guard. He/she will give you an information questionnaire to fill out. This is the basic information about yourself but you will also need to write down your A number (on your green card) and your social security number.

You line up and then hand in the form at a counter. The person at the counter checks over the form, then gives you a number, stamps your appointment letter and hands it back to you. You go and wait in a waiting area until your number is called.

When your number is called you go into a booth like area. Your fingerprints are taken digitally - that is, the technician will have you place your whole hand and then each finger individually against a glass screen. A computer will capture the image. She may retry several times to get the best image. Then you will have your picture taken in the same booth.

That's it! You're done :) . The whole thing should take less than half an hour including the wait.

If you have a different name on your identification from your letter and green card, then yes, a copy of your marriage certificate wouldn't hurt, but I doubt it will be needed.

Hi,

I have my biometrics appointment in a couple of days. What documents do I need to take for the appointment ?

- Drivers license

- Passport

- I 797, NOA for Biometrics

Anything else that can be asked for ?

Thanks!

1. Take with you - the most important which you didn't list - your Green Card and the extension letter (not needed but just in case).

2. Your biometrics letter which is more important than any other document besides your GC

3. Your current driver's license.

4. last but not least, make sure you don't get any major scratches on your hands or they will reschedule it for you. They need clean and clear prints.

Good luck!!
