It's a one trick pony approach that doesn't work and creates resentment among minority members like me who want to compete on merit, not by White guilt and White pity. We're not much fazed by Whites who want their own bball league. Instead of trying to encourage minority confidence in the face of such challenges, your views encourage continued division and apologetics. I'll stand against that every time.

I'm not fazed by the basketball league, not one whit - nor am I calling for it to not be allowed or the guy jailed. I do think its based on a fundamentally dodgy premise and I doubt very much whether it will achieve a broad following, certainly not one that will prove profitable. Most of the time these things take care of themselves.

When I first heard about this league, I thought to myself..... Fundamental basketball, what does that mean. I think "Fundamental Basketball" translates to "slow white guys who played in the JV team in high school who harbor a racist belief that if it weren't for all those black players, with their superior skill and athleticism, I'd be starting the game tonight". I don't think that you can really argue that the people organizing this league don't have a right to do it. I do argue that it is racist and in poor taste. Many of the groups like the black caucus and naacp that people like danno and his ilk like to trumpet as being equally racist were formed out of necessity. They were formed to address political and social needs of a community that were being woefully ignored by the generally white political leaders. Forming a basketball league of white people because they couldn't or can't compete at their local parks and recreation league because they suck is another matter.
